    Services for Louis Tenopir, 84, of Abie were held Monday afternoon at Moser Memorial Chapel. Rev. Donald Proett of Wahoo Officiated.

    Music was provided by Mrs. James Arneal, organist and James Arneal, soloist.

    Pallbearers were Marvin Hines, Arnold Hines, Adolph Tenopir, Wilfred Tenopir, Gilbert Banke and Robert Vanek. Burial was in Woodland Cemetery.

    A retired farmer and former resident of Morse Bluff, Tenopir died Friday, Aug. 4, at Birchwood Manor.

    He was born Jan. 20, 1894 at Milligan. He lived on a farm south of Morse Bluff, then lived at Abie for a few years before moving to Birchwood five years ago. He was a veteran of WWI and served overseas with the U.S. Army Infantry and was a member of the Americal Legion, Veterens of Foreign Wars and ??? Lodge.

    On Feb. 12, 1924 he married the former Anna Hines. She died Oct. 30, 1961.

    Survivors include daughters Mrs. Marion (Ann) Moline of Omaha and Mrs. Anthony (Madeline) Prochaska of Abie; brothers Emil and Harry of Fremont, Edd of Lawton, Okla.; Henry of Geronimo, Okla.; and William in Arizona and seven grandchildren.

    Sis. Anna Tenopir, daughter of Frank R. and Anna Hines, was born Feb. 10, 1894 and passed away at her home Oct. 30, 1961 at the age of 67 years. Most of her life was spent near Morse Bluff, Nebr. except for 14 years when she lived west of North Bend. Sis. Tenopir was a member of our Lodge and of the American Legion auxiliary. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she leaves to mourn her departure her husband, Louis; two daughters, Mrs. Anna Moline of Wahoo and Mrs. Madeline Prochaska of Abie; one sister, Mrs. Mary Bunda of Linwood; three brothers, Joseph, Victor, and Otto Hines of Morse Bluff; and five grandchildren. Funeral services were held in North Bend and from Z.C.B.J. Hall in Morse Bluff on Nov. 2, 1961, the Rev. Walter Millett of Cedar Bluffs officiating. Interment was in Woodland Cemetery, North Bend.     Native Bohemian Dies at Home of Daughter, Mrs. Frank Havlik

    Albert Tenopir, 63 years of age, died at the home of his daughter Mrs. Frank Havlik, 2 1/2 miles south of Lawton yesterday afternoon at 3:35 o'clock following an illness of three months.

    Mr. Tenopir was born in Bohemia, came to the United States and was naturalized over forty years ago, settling at wilber, Sanline county, Nebraska, coming to this community in 1911 and purchasing a farm near Geronimo.

    Besides his wife and daughter, he is survived by six sons, Lewis, Emil and Harry of Morse Bluff, Neb. Edward, William, and Henry reside at the parental home.

    Funeral services were held this afternoon at Ritter's chapel at 4 o'clock, Rev. Robert Ray, pastor of the Beal Heights Presbyterian church officiating.

    Burial was made in Highland cemetery with Ritter's in charge. The many friends of the family sympathize with them in their bereavement.

    His death certificate, on file with the Oklahoma State Board of Health, Bureau of Vital Statistics, Comanche County, Lawton shows his father as A. Tenopir and his mother unknown. It appears to me that he is part of the Vaclav and Anna TENOPIR family of Saline County, Nebraska.

    Albert married Anna Racek after 1889 in Milligan, Fillmore County, Nebraska.     Services for Mrs. Anna Tenopir, 77, who died at 7:30 am Tuesday at her home three miles southwest of Geronimo, will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Ritter Funeral Home chapel.

    Lloyd Brent, Sixth and Arlington Church of Christ minister, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Highland cemetery.

    Mrs. Tenopir died after an illness of four weeks. She came to the Geronimo community in 1927 from Morse Bluff, Neb.

    She was born Dec, 20, 1873, in Saunders county, Neb. and was married to Albert Tenopir in Milligan, Neb. Mr. Tenopir died May 27, 1928. Mrs. Tenopir was a member of the Catholic Church in Milligan.

    Survivors are six sons, Louis, Morse Bluff, Neb.; Harry, Cedar Bluff, Neb.; Emil, Malmo, Neb.; Bill, Tuscon, Ariz.; Edd, Lawton; and Henry, of the home address; one daughter, Mrs. Frank Havlik, Rt. 2 Lawton.

    One brother, Will Racek, Morse Bluff, Neb.; three sisters, Mrs. John Vachal and Mrs. Emma Virka, both of Morse Bluff, Neb.; and Mrs. Joe Svec, Milligan, Neb; 13 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

    Services for Mrs. Anna Tenopir, who died Tuesday at her home in Geronimo, were held at 3 pm Thursday in the Ritter Funeral home chapel.

    Lloyd Brent, pastor of the Sixth and Arlington Church of Christ, conducted the services and the commital rites at Highland cemetery.

    Bearers were Joe Devine, Mack George, W.M. Pinc, Henry Mixa, Tom Kuchynka, and M.R. Dunlap.

    Vaclav Tenopir died at his home on Omaha last Friday. The body was brought here for burial, the funeral taking place Monday morning from the Catholic church. Father Mosler of Odell officiating. The deceased was past 80 years old. He leaves an aged widow, six sons, and one daughter.

    (Research):This is the family at the time of the 1880 Federal Census. Note that a 16 year old Charles Tenopir is living nearby. It would appear that they are part of the same family due to the relative rarity of the name. Also, I assumed that that the ALBERT TENOPIR who was born in 1864 and who married Anna RACEK is part of this family. Perhaps one of the two "Charle's" listed below is him:

    James Racek, son of Mathias and Maria Racek, was born 11-27-1849 in Breskovice, Czechoslovakia, and came to the U.S. about 1861. He married Veronica Beznoska (born 2-4-1855). To them were born 4 sons: Frank, William, Edward, and Emil; and 5 daughters: Anna Tenopir, Emma Virka, Lizzie Hines Svec, Teresa, and Julie Vachal. James and Veronica lived all their lives on the homestead they acquired in 1874. James died 11-18-1908, and Veronica on 10-14-1946.     In a obituary published in Czech for Veronika, he was listed as Vaclava Racka.

    Notes:

    She is listed as Veronika on the Czech immigration index and her tombstone, however later census listings variously show her as Sarah and as Flora.

    Mrs. James Racek, born February 4, 1885 (sic), in Bohemia, died October 14, 1946, at the age 91 years, 8 months, 10 days. In 1871 she was married to James Racek. They settled on the homestead in Saunders County in 1869 near Morse Bluff where she resided until her death. Her husband preceded her in death 38 years ago. The were blessed with nine children. Three sons and one daughter preceded her in death. She is survived by one son and three daughters, William of Morse Bluff, Anna Tenopir of Geronimo, Oklahoma, Emma Virka, Morse Bluff, Lizzie Svec, Milligan and Julia Vachal, Morse Bluff, 26 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. One brother and three sisters preceded her in death. Funeral services were held at 1 pm from the Vachal home and at 1:30 pm from the ACBJ hall. Rev. B.A. Filipi of Clarkson officiated. Burial was made in the Killian cemetery.

    A copy of an obituary, apparently written in Czech, lists her place of birth as Berouna v Plzenskem kraji. v Cechach.

    Caroline noted that Veronika had a stroke in 1930, and was unable to walk or talk for the 16 years preceding her death.

    Joseph Hines, Koryta, December 1845, came to Braidwood in 1867. Living at date of writing.

    Obituary:

    Joseph Hines, one of the earliest settlers in the vicinity of Morse Bluff, died at him (sic) Wednesday of last week. Funeral services were held Friday under the auspices of the Z.C.B.J. lodge, conducted by the Rev. Philipi of Clarkson. Interment was made in the Killiam cemetery. Mr. Hines was born in Czechoslovakia in 1845 and came to the United States in 1868. He located on a farm in Saunders county in 1871 and continued the occupation of farming until his death. He is survived by this wife and the following children: Frank, James, John, Mrs. Edward Racek and Mrs. Rudolph Kavan. Mr Hines lived on the same farm near Morse Bluff for sixty years.
