Hilda Grace Tanner Freeman-Hefner Warriner of Granbury, 72, passed away Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, in Fort Worth.

Service: 3 p.m. Wednesday at Wiley Funeral Home. Interment: Acton Cemetery. Visitation was Tuesday at the funeral home.

Hilda was born Feb. 9, 1940, in Hattiesburg, Miss. to L.B. and Hattie Marie McLemore Tanner. She worked for Irving Public Schools, assistant in a medical office, self-employed owner of a magnetic sign company, ladies apparel store, a trucking company and research for a legal consulting company, retiring in 2004.

She was married to James Thomas Freeman from 1958 to 1989, Stephen Frank Hefner from 1990 to 2004 when he passed away and Robert Glenn Warriner since March 15, 2008.

Hilda was a member of Crossbranch Bible Fellowship in Glen Rose, Volks Kruzers Club in Granbury and Legends Street Rod and Customs Club of Wichita, Kan. She enjoyed ceramics, china painting, photography, travel, reading, cooking and motorcycle riding. She had lived in Granbury since 1990.

Survivors: Husband, Robert Glenn Warriner of Granbury; children, Cheryl Leigh Freeman Faulkner of Saginaw and James Thomas Freeman II of Arlington; grandchildren, Heather Leigh Faulkner, Tanner Scott Faulkner, Christopher James Freeman and Devin Abbett Freeman; stepchildren, Gregory Alan Warriner and Allison Hefner; sisters, Glenda Todd and Sharon Evans-Bost; great aunts, Jean Tanner Crocker of Mississippi and Carole Beth Tanner Wood of Arkansas; great uncle, Aubrey Lee Tanner of Mississippi.

Arrangements were by Wiley Funeral Home.

Hattie (daughter of Scott Estus Levaster "Vaster" McLemore and Lula Virginia Ford) was born on 31 Mar 1911 in Ellisville, Jones County, Mississippi; died on 23 Jun 2001; was buried in Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery, Tyler, Smith County, Texas. Notes:

When he enlisted for the World War I draft, he was farming in Hattiesburg, and listed his nearest relative as Ellen McLemore, his mother. He was described as Tall, Slender and with blue eyes and dark hair.

Her Texas Death Certifcate shows her as Lula Virginia McLemore, a widow. Her parents were shown as Issac Ford and Sallie Dickerson. Informant was her daughter, Mrs. Hattie Tanner.

Notes:

His widow, Ellen, applied for a Confederate pension on 10 July 1906. She stated John T. McLemore enlisted in Perry County on 13 May 1862 in Co C, Ninth Mississippi Regiment Cavalry and served about three years. He was discharged 13 May 1865 in Meridian, Mississippi. Witnesses to her application were G. B. LEE and N. N. LEE.

Merritt Mullen shows her as the daughter of John CALLAHAN.

In 1910, she was living with her 29 year old son, Scott E.V. McLemore, and next door to daughter and son-in-law Florence and Nathan LEE.

She was living with her son, Abram "Napolean" McLemore, in Forrest County, Mississippi at the time of the 1920 census.

Ellen applied for a Confederate pension on 10 July 1906, based on the service of her late husband. She stated she was 65 years old (born ca 1841) and had been a resident of Mississippi her entire life. She was widowed from John T. McLemore--having been married in October 1862---and he died 4 Sep 1905.
