Dorothy, of Orange, passed away Wednesday at The Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Louisiana to Robert and Rachel (Matthews) Jordan, she was a resident of the Orange area since 1957. A member of the Calvary Baptist Church in West Orange, she was a member of the Madison Lodge, Order of the Eastern Star of Orange, she was the lead sponsor of the local chapter of the Rainbow Girls, she was a caregiver to her husband and her mother and she worked as a medication aide with the Jones Nursing Home in Orange and she retired in 1985.

Preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Bobby Ray Jordan and Harold Jordan; her husband, Harold Mays, Sr.; her sons, Harold Mays, Jr. and Burl Wayne Mays and her grandson, Casey Mays, those who will most cherish her memory are her daughters, Sybil Hanten and her husband Tom and Sandy Reeves and her husband Ron; daughters-in-law, Jackie Mays and Page Mays; grandchildren, Kim Roberts and her husband Charlie, Bruce Mays and his wife Stephanie, Chris Hanten and his wife Jessica, Jennifer Ferguson and her husband Jay and Rachel Mays Hollier.

Family/Spouse: Harold Warren Mays. Harold (son of Samuel Warren Mays and Nannie E. Powell) was born on 15 Mar 1915 in Texas; died on 19 Jun 2002 in Orange, Orange County, Texas; was buried in Autumn Oaks Memorial Park, Orange, Orange County, Texas. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
