Columbus R. Fussell was born January 14, 1869, at Milam, Sabine Co, TX. He married Maud Maund in 1888 at Milam, and they moved to Shelby Co. in 1903. Mr. Fussell is listed as a life insurance agent in the 1910 census, and was also a barber for about 20 yrs, retiring 2 yrs prior to his death, when ill health forced him to retire. He was an active member of the Christian Church and a member of the city council, where he never missed a meeting.

The Fussells had two children: Leo had died about 10 previously, and their daughter Elma F. Fussell Wyman was living in Fort Worth at the time of C. R. Fussell's death. His wife also survived him. Funeral services were at the Christian Church, and graveside services were conducted by Samford Lodge, A.F. & A.M., of which Mr. Fussell was a member.

Maud (daughter of William Lott "Uncle Billie" Maund and Susan Josephine Cowart) was born on 22 May 1869 in Milam, Sabine County, Texas; died on 8 Apr 1936 in Center, Shelby County, Texas; was buried in Fairview Cemetery, Center, Shelby County, Texas. Thomas married Mary Hogan on 26 Dec 1866. Mary was born before 1852 in Louisiana; died before 1880. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
