    Notes:

Quinna Howard Cooper emailed, in July 2014, that Joseph Edgar Martin's parents were Joseph S Martin, born June 29, 1858 in MS. He died February 12, 1923 and he is buried in Cliburn Cemetery in Lawrence County, MS. His mother was Permelia Jane Mullens, and she was born June 26, 1848 in MS. She died January 11, 1931. She is also buried in Cliburn Cemetery in Lawrence County, MS.

Could he be a descendant of Norman Martin (b. 1798 in North Carolina) of Clarke County, Mississippi, who had many descendants that would marry into the McLemore family in and around Copiah County?

    Notes:

The son of Richard GRANTHAM and Lydia Jane BARLOW. At the time of the 1900 Rankin County, Mississippi census, he lived next door to a younger Jo??? Grantham, presumably his eldest son.

Said to have died but there is contradictory information about the date of his death. The Louisiana Statewide death index lists a John Grantham, died 21 Jan 1934 in Sabine Parish, at the age of 86 (therefore born ca 1848). Certificate #0-908 Volume 3. The FindAGrave listing for J G Grantham instead shows his dates as 1847-1933. He is linked to daughter, Bama Grantham Martin, and is listed as a son of Richard Grantham III and Lydia Jane Barlow. His is buried at the Zions Rest Cemetery in De Soto Parish.

Rev. William McLemore corresponded with Patricia Darlene McClendon about this line of the McLemore family.
