John R. Chrastil

Notes:

John F. Chrastil, age 75, of Hallam, died Friday, January 31, 2014, with his wife Janet at his side. Born in rural Lancaster County to Adolph and Agnes (Pospisil). Retired U.S. Letter Carrier, Army veteran and a man who enjoyed travelling and playing cards with family and friends.

He was a devoted husband to his surviving wife Janet for 53 years. He is also survived by his children, Shellie Chrastil and her friend Bobby Bell, Sheri (Alan) Holsing; grandchildren, Kristopher (Blaire) Holsing, Andrew (Alexa) Holsing; sisters, Betty Zelenka, Janet Johnson, Carolyn Prazak; brother-in-law, Ben Muff; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Clara Muff [was actually a cousin who was raised with John]; brothers-in-law, Mike Johnson, John Zelenka, Frank Prazak.

Funeral service: 3 pm Tuesday, Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S. 14th St. Lincoln, NE. Visitation with family Monday 4-8 pm at the funeral home. Memorials to the family for a later designation.
