    From FindAGrave:

Larrissa Cordelia Wright, called "Delia" as a girl, Cordelia when grown, Irenia Opheilia Wright, Cynthia Sarah Wright and Isaac William Wright were reared by twice widowed maternal Grandma Mary (Carter) Gary Loggins (born TN). Mary Loggins loved them, taught them Christian values and that family meant everything. They became fine young people, decent, honest and hard working. The girls knew how to cook great meals and how to maintain a home. They all helped her on her farm and somehow they managed even during those hard times.

Larrissa Cordelia Wright married Charles Ayers "Jack" Wood, a young farmer. "Jack" and Cordelia Wood and their children lived with Grandma Mary Ann Jackson (Carter) [Gary] Loggins.

  1. 12.  Thomas E. "Edd" Wood, Sr. was born about 1844 in San Augustine County, Texas (son of Charles A. Wood and Elizabeth Muse); died about 1877 in Brookeland, Sabine County, Texas.

    Notes:

At one time he owned the land where the Jasper County Court House now stands. (White and Toole, p 72).

    From FindAGrave:

Thomas E. Wood, Sr. was the son of Charles A. Wood and Elizabeth Muse. His middle name was probably "Edwin" since he is listed by that name in the 1850 census and "Edwine" in the 1860 census. His son, Thomas E. Wood, Jr. went by "Edd."

He married Nancy Meigs Sep 28, 1865 in Jasper Co, TX. They were the parents of four children.

Thomas E. Wood, Sr. died in 1877 at the age of 33 years, leaving his wife, age 29, with four young children to care for. Nancy married second William Wesley "Wes" Dalley on Sep 20, 1879 in Sabine Co, TX. Nancy Dalley is buried in Brookeland Cemetery, Brookeland, Sabine Co, TX.

It is not known where Thomas E. Wood, Sr. is buried. He could be here in the Wood Cemetery near other family members in one of the many unmarked graves, or he could be buried elsewhere in San Augustine or Sabine County. This beautiful spot on the shore of present-day Lake Sam Raburn is a fitting place to honor his short life.
