Listed in 1900 census with wife, Clarissa, daughter Cora, and boarders Anna Walker and Rebecca Angevine. Hiram was Cheshire Township, Allegan County Clerk in the years 1868, 1869, and 1870

Lorraine Smith Benkelman shows him as a sibling of Delia and Frank, whereas on some other trees, Delia and Frank are shown as grandchildren of William Angevine and Catherine Sanford, not their children. It is possible, therefore, that Samuel is also a grandson. More research should be done to verify this.
