    Lockport - Glenn A. Striffler, 83, of 1564 Franklin St., Olcott, Died Saturday (Jan. 3, 1970) at Newfane Inter-Community Memorial Hospital after a long illness.

    A native of the Rapids, he was born Aug 18, 1886, son of John and Ida Leinbach Striffler. He had formerly lived in Lockport, moving to Olcott five years ago.

    He was a retired inspection foreman for the Harrison Radiator Division, General Motors Corp., where he had worked for many years. He retired in 1964. He was a member of the Methodist Church of Olcott, the Foreman's Club of Harrison's and a former member of the United Lodge 98, IOOF.

    He is survived by his widow, Ruth Hancock Striffler; two sons, Leslie J. of Gasport and William A. of Olcott; a step-son, Charles Hancock of Atlanta, Ga., a brother, Floyd Striffler of Lockport; a sister, Mrs. Mabel Riley of Kenmore; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

    Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Harry R. Lee will officiate.

    Burial will be in Cold Spring Cemetery.

    Lockport Fraternal Leader Succombs

    LOCKPORT, April 9 - Seriously ill for two weeks, Mrs. Maude H. Striffler, 56, wife of G. Striffler, 27 Sunnnyside street, died last evening at Lockport City hospital.

    Mrs. Striffler was born here April 14, 1890 and attended the public schools here. She was a past noble grand of Lockport Rebekah Lodge 290, IOOF, and a past president of the Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War, now disbanded. She was a member of the First English Lutheran church.

    Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, Leslie F. of this city, and William A. of Olcott; her parents, Mrs. and Mrs. William Damerow, of this city; two sisters, Mrs. Charles Geer of Hackensack, N.J. and Jessie Damerow of this city, and a brother Lessie Damerow, of this city.

    The funeral will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. at the Gaul funeral home, 263 East avenue. Interment will be in Cold Springs cemetery.

    Mrs. John Striffler

    Word has been received of the death of Mrs. John Striffler at her home in Lockport, New York. Ida E. LEINBACH died Sunday, Jun. 18, and funeral services were held Wednesday from the home, 27 Sunnyside Street.

    Interment was at Chesnut Ridge cemetery. She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Walter J. RILEY, three sons, Glenn, Roy and Floyd, six grandchildren, one brother and three sisters. Mrs. Striffler is a cousin of the Strifflers in Cass City.

    Niagara Falls Gazette, Monday, June 19,1933, page 1: LOCKPORT - June 19 - Mrs. Ida E. Striffler, 69 years old, wife of John Striffler died last night at the family home at 27 Sunnyside street. Mrs. Striffler was born in Clarence and had resided in this city for the past 32 years. She was a member of the First Baptist church. Besides her husband she is survived by one daughter, three sons, one brother and three sisters. Funeral services will be held from the home on Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock.     Ruth Marcetti showed his death date as 30 December 1871, but Carole Jean Benkelman who has a photo of his headstone, states that it instead shows Dec. 30, 1872. The headstone is further inscribed "Erected by the Lancaster Benevolent Association of Which He was the First President."

    Surviving is her husband one son and two daughters. Funeral services will be held from the Rehoboth Lutheran church of which the deceased is a member Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Interment will be made in the Rehoboth Lutheran cemetery.
