    Mrs. Eva Mae Joos succumbs at 49

    Mrs. Eva Mae Joos was buried in Elkland cemetery Friday following her death Oct. 11 at Hills and Dales Hospital.

    Surviving are her husband, Maurice; two sons, Richard and Donald, both of Cass City; her mother, Mrs. Carrie Wendt, Cass City; two grandchildren, and a brother, Lawrence Sovey of Clawson.

    Mrs. Joos was born in Pontiac May 6, 1918, the daughter of Mrs. Carrie Sovey Wendt and the late John Sovey. They moved to Cass City thirty-three years ago. The former Miss Sovey was united in marriage to Maurice Joos in Cass City on Feb. 27, 1937, and they continued to make their home here.

    The body of Eva Mae Joos was at Little's Funeral Home until noon Friday, then taken to the Evangelical United Brethren church for the 2 o'clock service. Officiating were Rev. Ira Wood, pastor, and Rev. Stanley Kirn Sr., retired. Mrs. Joos was a member of the EUB church.

    Miss Sovey, Bride of Maurice JOOS

    Of interest to a wide circle of friends was the marriage of Eva Mae SOVEY, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John SOVEY, to Maurice JOOS, Saturday afternoon at the Evangelical parsonage, Rev. G.A. Spitler officiating. Mr. JOOS is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William JOOS. The bride was lovely in a blue and gray spring ensemble with gray accessories and bouquet of pink and white sweetpeas. She was attended by Miss Laura JAUS, who wore green spring print with gray accessories and bouquet of orchid sweet peas. Clark HELWIG assisted Mr. JOOS as best man. Mr. and Mrs. JOOS left for a short wedding trip to Pontiac, Detroit and Saginaw.

    Mrs. JOOS is a graduated of the Cass City high school with the class of 1936, and for several months has been employed at Wood's drug store. Mr. JOOS was a member of the 1929 class of Cass City high school ans is employed by Angus McPhail. Both young people are members of the Evangelical church and are prominent in choir work and young people's activities. An informal reception honoring Mr. and Mrs. JOOS was held at the home of the bride's parents on Thursday evening. Mr. and Mrs. JOOS will make their home in Cass City.
