    Graveside Services and Interment for Kevin S. Edgar, 33, of Teague, formerly of Hemphill were held at for 2:30 P.M., Monday at the Delbert Stutts Private Cemetery in Athens, Texas with John Taylor officiating.

    Mr. Edgar died Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at his residence in Teague. He was born November 2, 1977 in Hemphill.

    Kevin was a resident of Teague the past two years where he was a welder for Long Equipment in Teague. He also resided in numerous East Texas cities where his welding jobs took him, and he had lived in Hemphill until the age of 16. He was a 1995 graduate of Corsicana High School. Kevin loved all outdoors activities and loved fishing, hunting, horses, and riding 4 wheelers mud hogging with his trucks, but he especially loved being with his children.

    He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Hoy Edgar, 1996.

    Survivors include his sons, Dakoda Lane Edgar, and Bray LaRaedo Edgar, both of Elkhart, father, Danny Edgar of Hemphill; mother and stepfather, Sonya and Dale Hammans of Teague; brothers, Trey Hammans of Palestine, Trae Adams and Kooper Hammans, both of Teague, Matthew Edgar of Hemphill; sisters, Aimee and J. Stone of Garrison, Jena Edgar of Vidor, Chelsea Edgar of Hemphill; maternal grandparents, Chester and Carrie Stutts of Athens, Janie Arnold of Odessa, Ken and Kay Hammans of Chandler; paternal grandmother, Jean Edgar of Hemphill; Uncles and Aunts, Larry and Donna Stutts of Athens, Edward and Angie Edgar of Hemphill, Cathy and Ricky Stuart of Richland.

    Pallbearers were Bo Rice, Kent Smith, Trae Adams, Trey Hammans, Kooper Hammans, and Justin Stutts.

    The family received friends, Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home in Athen, Texas.

    Viola Jean Edgar, 82, passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at Hemphill Care Center in Hemphill, Texas.

    Jean was born in Upshur County, Texas on July 13, 1938 to Leamon P. Peveto and Lola Alma Odom Peveto. She was a lifelong resident of Sabine County and a member of Camp Springs Baptist Church.

    Jean was a well known and respected member of the community. She owned and operated chicken houses with her family for while also managing Edgar's Conoco. She later worked as Cafeteria Manager for Hemphill ISD for many years before her retirement.

    She is survived by her sons, Edward Edgar and Angie Butler of Hemphill and Danny "Squirrel" Edgar and wife, Shiela, also of Hemphill; sister, Joyce Moore of Many, La.; brother-in-law, Raymond Edgar and wife, Gail, of Bronson; grandchildren, Jena Luker, Dustin Edgar, Chelsea Edgar, Matthew Edgar and Amberlee Craig; and great grandchildren, Dakoda, Brady, Leah, Gracie, Avery, Cooper, Fletcher, Addison, and Maicyn.

    Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 17, 2021 at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas.

    Graveside services will begin at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 18, 2021 in Oak Hill Cemetery with Bro. Floyd Wright officiating.

  3. 6.  Chester Wayne Stutts was born on 10 Mar 1934 in Rural Shade, Navarro County, Texas; died on 17 Nov 2014 in Athens, Henderson County, Texas.

    Notes:

    Services for Chester Stutts, 80 of Athens are scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17, 2014 at Carroll-Lehr Funeral Chapel in Athens with Bro. Thomas Taylor officiating.

    Burial will follow in Stutts Family Cemetery.

    Mr. Stutts passed away Thursday, Nov. 13, 2014 in Athens surrounded by his family.
    He was born March 10, 1934 in Rural Shade to Thomas and Nettie Autry Stutts. Mr. Stutts was a resident of Athens. He had been manager for Cabells Milk Company in Corsicana seven years. He then was owner of a Bordens distributorship in Palestine eight years prior to retiring. He was a family man and loved hunting, fishing, telling stories and gardening.
    Mr. Stutts is preceded in death by his brothers Thomas, Manin, Clarence and Wesley and grandson Kevin Edgar.

    Survivors include his wife of 58 years Carrie Stutts of Athens; son Larry Stutts and wife Donna of Athens; daughters Debra Rowan and husband Claude, Duncanville, Sonya Hammans and husband Dale of Corsicana, Cathy Stutts, Corsicana; grandsons Kyle Stutts and wife Maricar of Corsicana, Trae Adams, Kooper Hammans, both of Fairfield, Justin Stutts of Corsicana, Trey Hammans and wife Alisha of Palestine; granddaughters Randi Joiner and husband Woody, New York, Aimee Stone and husband Jay, Nacogdoches, Daisy Reynolds and husband Nicky of New York; sisters Melba Loving and husband George, Lindale, Ann Gilbert and husband Cecil of Canton, Judy Hughes and husband Howard, Doris Johnston, Malakoff; brothers Delbert Stutts and wife Mary, Athens, Travis Stutts and wife Joann, Corsicana.

    Pallbearers will be Kyle Stutts, Trae Adams, Kade Stutts, Korabyn Stone, Kooper Hammans, Justin Stutts, Trey Hammans, Brady Edgar, Dakota Edgar, Wayne Bonner, Joe Harrell.

    Visitation for family and friends will be 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, 2014 at Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home, Athens.
