Norman Carol Reeves, Sr., 69, of Pineland, Texas passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at his residence.

Norman was born August 19, 1953 in Pineland to Ira Kirby Reeves and Arlie Wilma Fairsheet Reeves. He was a lifelong resident of Pineland and a graduate of West Sabine ISD. He worked on pipelines running heavy equipment and was a member of IUOE Local 178. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and playing on his trackhoe and he loved playing with his grandchildren and traveling. When he was home, he liked to watch westerns and hunting/fishing shows. He was a member of New Beginnings Church in Plainview.

Norman is survived by his wife of 29 years, Tena Worrell Reeves of Pineland; sons, Billy Williams of Pineland, Norman Reeves, Jr., and wife, Audra, of Nederland, Robert Reeves and wife, Holly, of Kilgore, and Cheyenne Dudley and wife, Jessica, of Lumberton; daughter, Stephanie Martin of Pineland and Lynn Reeves of Splendora; grandchildren, Katy Booker, Shelbie Martin, Kenady White and husband, Colton, Michael Martin and wife, Harlee, Karmyn Dudley, Audrey Johnson, Joseph King, Emma Williams, Eastin Williams, Tenlynn Moody, Austin Reeves, Landyn Chalupa-Harris, Evan and wife, Chelsea, and Bethany and Braydon; great grandchildren, Harlynn Craig, Berklee Martin, Briggs Martin and River; brother, Loyd Reeves and wife, Cecilia; sister, Blanche Dunn; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kirby Reeves; mother, Arlie Reeves; brothers, Kirby Joe Reeves, Tommy Gene Reeves and James (Red) Reeves; and sisters, Wilma Simpson and Margerete Thornton.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 4, 2023 at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas.

Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 5, 2023 in Starr Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Wayne Alford officiating.

Burial will follow services in Gravel Hill Cemetery with Blake Ponder, Colton White, Tyler Ferguson, Anthony Clark, Joseph King and Lil' D Worrell serving as pallbearers. Eastin Williams will be honorary pallbearer.

Bridgette Lynn Carlton Theis, 54, of Vidor, died in the University of Arkansas Medical School Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was born in Jasper, Texas, to Robert Billy and Bobbie Lou Cartwright Carlton.

Bridgette is survived by her husband Mike Theis of Vidor, her sons; Norman Reeves, Jr. of Houston, Robert K. Reeves of Splendora, her step-son Justin Theis of Katy, her daughter Bobbie Lynn Moody of Splendora, her step-daughters; Amber Theis of Chestnut Spring, Ashley Theis of Vidor, Jennifer Stone of Humble, her grandchildren; Landyn and Austin Reeves, Joseph King, Tenlynn Moody, Shaynah Pickering, Jada Geerrero, Skylar Theis and Augustus Jay Yancy. She is also survived by her brother Robert C. Carlton of Vidor, her sisters; Becky Horn of Hemphill, Bonnie King of Corpus Christi, Belinda Sanders of Warren, Beverly Schultz of The Woodlands, and her aunt Verlene Cartwright. Bridgette was preceded in death by her parents and grandson Jonathan Corona.

Visitation will be from 5:00PM until 9:00PM, Tuesday, October 22, 2013, in the Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr St., Hemphill, Texas. Funeral services will be at 11:00AM, Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013, in the Starr Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Rosevine Cemetery, Rosevine, Texas.

Bonnie Cartwright

Bonnie Hardy Cartwright, 96, of San Augustine died Monday, April 6, 1998, at the Twin Lakes Care Center in San Augustine.

Born Sept. 29, 1901 in San Augustine County as a daughter of the late Dutch and Mary Lou (Dickerson) Hardy, she was a lifelong resident of the area. Mrs. Cartwright was homemaker and a member of Rosevine Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors: son, Jessie Cartwright of Rosevine, daughters Willie Mae COLLIER of San Augustine and Elizabeth PHELPS of Nederland; 18 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and 29 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel in San Augustine with Bro. Cliff Durham and Bro. Charles Stephens officiating. Intermenet will follow in Rosevine Cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by Wyman Roberts Funeral Home.
