Funeral for Bernice Boyett, 75, of Joaquin will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009, at Mangum Funeral Home Chapel, Center, with the Rev. Joe Walker officiating. Burial will be in Brookland Cemetery, Joaquin. Mrs. Boyett died Feb. 22, 2009, at Shelby Regional Medical Center, Center. Born May 3, 1933, in San Augustine County, she was the daughter of Ben and Alice Richardson Evans. She was a homemaker. She was married to Johnnie Boyett, and he preceded her in death. Survivors include sons, Johnnie Joe Boyett of Gladewater and Jackie Boyett of Joaquin; daughter, Mary Boyett Stanley of Joaquin; sister, Verline Stanley of Joaquin; brothers, L.B. Evans of Joaquin and Roy Evans of Clayton; 10 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. Mangum Funeral Home, Center.
