Paul Williams notes that on her marriage application Eskel lists that she was the daughter of Andrew & Nettie [Denton] Dunn, with her father born Crawford, IN and her mother born Orange county, IN. She was a sister of John Dunn, who later married Lucy Tyree.

Eskel married Oliver "Ollie" Tyree on 19 Aug 1915 in English, Crawford County, Indiana. Oliver (son of William Tyree, Sr. and Sarah Jane McLemore) was born on 10 Oct 1892 in Sterling Township, Crawford County, Indiana; died on 2 Dec 1933 in Sterling Township, Crawford County, Indiana.
