Actual text: *Deaths-Funerals* Mack Tyree

Mack Tyree, 82, retired employee of the Southern Railway, died about 8:40 a.m. Tuesday at his home in Francisco after an illness of some 6 months. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Francsico General Baptist church with Rev. Loren Shafer and Rev. Ned Sutton officiating. Burial will be in the Francisco I.O.O.F. cemetery. Surviving are 4 sisters, Mrs. Mattie McLemore and Mrs. Lula Sanders, both of Princeton and Mrs. Mary Debord of Francisco and Mrs. Darcus Smith of Burnside, KY; a half-sister, Caroline Coomer, of Princeton; 3 brothers, Jesse of Francisco, and William & David of Princeton. Mr. Tyree was born at Rockcastle, KY, but had lived in Gibson county for the past 34 years. Mr. Tyree is at the Colvin & Son funeral home where friends may call

Paul Williams emailed, on October 3, 2008, that "the original marriage record on Mack Tyree from Crawford County, IN -----Marriage Record Book I Pg. 435 Date 29 Aug 1908. His spouse is Anna Jenkins widows name is?b? ?/b?Curtis per record her husband died in June 1906---no given name mentioned---Anna is the daughter of Elijah & Sarah Jane (Miller) Jenkins....she was born (per book) 30 June 1871 Crawford ,IN ---Mack's surname is spelled as Tirie--it gives his parents as William & Ellen (Forgie) Tirie."

Paul adds that Anna had children (Raymond, Elma and Stella) and by her prior husband that can be seen living with them, and lsited as stepchildren to Mack Tyree, as of the 1910 census.

1. Clyde F. Tyree was born about 1909 in Crawford County, Indiana; and died.

Said to be the son of James Tyree and Mary Elizabeth Hall.

Paul Williams provided the following information regarding the Civil War service of William Tyree, who was in the Union Army:

TENNESSEANS IN THE CIVIL WAR; (USA) TYREY, William: Blacksmith, Co K, 8th TN Cav

Service records from National Archives shows William Tyrey enrolled in the 8th Cav, Co K, as a blacksmith on 20 Sept 1863 in Hancock County, Tennessee for a period of 3 years. He mustered in 27 October 1863 in Knoxville, Tennessee. The only other item in the file is one card. Remarks say that he had bounty due of $25 plus premium of $2 and this was never paid.

1886 Residence Sterling - William Tyree - subject states that he was a Pvt. in the 8th Reg, Co. K, Tennessee Vol

Paul also has in his files a copy of the original documentation - individual #467 [sic] Tyrey, William which confirms his address, other information suffered from lung disease, camp diahrrea,
Knoxville, TN with a date of Dec 1864 (??)

Actual text: William Tyree, aged 72 years died of brights desease Saturday night at the home of Wright McLamore near Temple. The funeral service was conducted Monday at two o'clock at the Goodman church by Elder A. J. Scott and the body was buried in the cemetery near by. The deceased leaves a widow and a large number of children which are grown.
