    Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 6, 2019, in the Attoyac Missionary Baptist Church, with Bro. Tim Swanson and Bro. Michael Dickerson officiating. Interment will be in the Attoyac Cemetery adjacent to the Church.


    Visitation will be held on Saturday evening, October 5, 2019, from the hours of 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel, 316 West Columbia Street, San Augustine, Texas.


    Kim was born November 20, 1985, to Debbie (Hogue) Birdwell and Kenneth Birdwell in Nacogdoches, Texas. She was a graduate of West Sabine High School in Pineland, Texas. Further extending her education through Panola College obtaining her L.V.N. license, she was presently working as a charge nurse at Twin Lake Care Center in San Augustine where she so lovingly cared for her patients. She was considered one of the best all-around nurses and was a dear friend to all who knew her, she will be dearly missed.


    Kim was a great daughter to her beloved parents, granddaughter, a loving Momma to her beloved son Brandon, called "Lucille" to her beloved husband, Burl, a dear sister to Kevin and Kellie, a loving aunt to Genna and Toby, a wonderful niece, cousin, and a beloved cherished friend. One of her most pride and joy was her son, Brandon Keith, who was born to her and Burl Gene on May 11, 2004. Kim was of the Pentecostal faith, and dearly loved her Lord God and Saviour.


    Those who are left to cherish her memory include her beloved husband, Burl Tarver of San Augustine, her cherished son, Brandon Tarver of San Augustine; her loving parents, Kenneth and Debbie Birdwell of San Augustine; her loving sister, Kellie Wiggins and her husband, Matthew of Deridder, Louisiana; her loving brother, Kevin Birdwell and his wife, Katie of Centennial, Colorado; her loving nephew and niece, Toby and Genna Birdwell of Centennial, Colorado; a loving mother-in-law, Susan Everett of San Augustine; beloved grandmother, Myrtle Hogue of San Augustine/Hemphill; her beloved uncles, Marlon (Bubba) Birdwell of Pineland; Michael Birdwell of Hemphill; Doyle Birdwell of San Augustine, and David Hogue of San Augustine/Hemphill; her beloved grandfather-in-law, Rufus Everett of San Augustine.


    She was preceded in death by her beloved grandparents, Kennon, and Pauline (Oliver) Birdwell, and L.J. Hogue; and her grandmother-in-law, Charlotte Everett.

    Kennon Birdwell

    Kennon Birdwell, 77, of San Augustine County, died Friday, March 28, 2008, at a Lufkin hospital.

    Born Oct. 10, 1930, in San Augustine County as a son of the late Florence (Hardy) and Enlow Birdwell, he was a longtime resident of San Augustine County. Birdwell was a farmer/rancher and member of Rosevine United Pentecostal Church.

    He is survived by his wife, Pauline (Oliver) Birdwell of San Augustine County; sons, Kenneth Wayne Birdwell and wife Debbie, Michael Enlow Birdwell, Marlon Odessa Birdwell and wife Karen, and Doyle Dwayne Birdwell, all of San Augustine; grandchildren, Keven Wayne Birdwell and wife Katie of Denton and Kimberly Rene' Tarver and husband Burl, Kellie LeAnn Birdwell, Steven Michael Birdwell, Christopher Lee Birdwell, Rebekah Nicole Birdwell, Samuel Luke Birdwell, Shelby Danielle Birdwell, and Brooke Bailey Birdwell, all of San Augustine; a great-grandson, Brandon Keith Tarver of San Augustine; brothers, Winfred Birdwell and wife Vivian and Carl O. Birdwell and wife Helen, all of San Augustine; and sisters, Bertha Mae McMurry of San Augustine, Ruby Murphy of Willow, Alaska, Margie Nell Hildebrandt of Orangefield, and Blanche "Sissy" Neal and husband Gail of McKinney.

    He was preceded in death by his brothers, Norman Birdwell and Steven Birdwell; and sisters, Audrey Drawhorn and Mattie Lou Breaux.

    Funeral services were held March 31 at Rosevine United Pentocostal Church in Rosevine with Pastor Gordon Simmons and Bro. Glenn D. Morton officiating. Interment followed at Chinquapin Cemetery in San Augustine County.

    Mrs. Pauline O. Birdwell, age 81, of San Augustine County, Texas entered the gates of Heaven this morning of March 22, 2016, as she passed from this life in Lufkin, Texas. She was born March 7, 1935, in Sabine County, Texas to the late Odessa and Myrtie (English) Oliver.

    Mrs. Birdwell was a longtime faithful member of the Rosevine United Pentecostal Church. She was a dedicated christian woman, raising her children to be dedicated christian men. Until her health had made her unable to continue, she did private home nursing for many of the families in the county. Pauline was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.

    All who knew her, came to love her. On February 26, 1954, she married the love of her life, Mr. Kennon Birdwell, celebrating 54 years of marriage before his death on March 28, 2008.

    Those who will cherish her memory forever are her sons, Kenneth Birdwell & wife, Debbie of San Augustine, Marlon Birdwell of San Augustine, Michael Birdwell of Hemphill, and Doyle Birdwell of San Augustine; grandchildren, Kevin & wife Katie, Kim & husband Burl, Kellie & husband Mathew, Steven, Chris & wife Carla, Rebekah, Luke, Shelby, and Brooke; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Genna, and Toby; sisters, Marsha Dearing & husband Bob of Farmersville, Louisiana, Marilyn Jagneaux of Ft. Worth, and Bobbie Eberlan of Center; brother, Winford Oliver & wife Ann of Lake Limestone; brothers & sisters-in-law, Winfred & Vivian Birdwell of San Augustine, Carl O Birdwell & wife Helen of San Augustine, Margie Hildebrandt of Orangefield; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Odessa & Myrtie Oliver; husband, Kennon Birdwell; brothers, Samuel Odessa Oliver and Lamar Oliver; sisters, Marie Harris and Margie Harris.

    Funeral services will be held Friday, March 25, 2016, 11:00 a.m., at Rosevine United Pentecostal Church in Sabine County, Texas with Bro. Gordon Simmons and Bro. Rex White officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, March 24, 2016, 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Chinquapin Cemetery in San Augustine County, Texas. Pallbearers are Kevin Birdwell, Chris Birdwell, Leon Loggins, Glenn Oliver, Jarrett Ashley, and Burl Tarver.

    L. J. Hogue

    L. J. Hogue, 79, died in his home Friday, Nov. 5, 2010, after a lengthy illness. Hogue was born in Center to Lydia DuBose and Johnny Hogue and lived his life in Hemphill. He was a retired self-employed plumber, a U. S. Air Force veteran, and a member of the Broaddus United Pentecostal Church.

    Hogue is survived by his wife of 50 years, Myrtle Hogue of Hemphill; son, David Hogue of Hemphill; daughter, Debora and her husband, Kenneth Birdwell of Hemphill; sisters, Gladys Flowers of Groveton, Yvonne Attwood of Texas City, and Callie Mae and her husband George Brooks of LaMarque. He is also survived by grandchildren, Kevin and Katie Birdwell, Kim and Burl Tarver, and Kellie Birdwell; great-grandchild, Brandon Tarver, and a number of nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his sister, Katherine Bird.

    Funeral services were conducted Sunday, Nov. 7, in Starr Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in the Bronson Cemetery in Bronson.
