Julia Anna SCRUGGS married 2nd Hiram R. WILSON of Angelina County, Texas on December 22, 1897.
He was born July 24, 1864; he died on June 8, 1931 while living in the Old Salem Community , Newton Co. Texas and is buried in the Trout Creek Cemetery with most of my other relatives.
This was also a 2nd marriage for him.
The couple had only one child...my grandmother, Bulah B. WILSON...called Bida or Biddie when she was born, she changed her name because of the other children teasing her. But the name
is recorded on the her earlier Census.
Grandmother was born on March 28/29, 1899 in Huntington, Angelina Co., TX
She was raised by her Mother, Julia Anna, when her father rode away and did not return for years.
Possibly they were divorced but I have found no papers. But he seemed to have re-married as Census lists wife, Mary in later years. Julia Anna never re-marrried after that.
GrandMother, Bulah B. WILSON married 1. Joseph Van Buren PINNER and 2. Willie Dell HUFF and gave birth to a total of 12 children and raise an additional 5 step-children and many of her grandchildren. She died October 11, 1995 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont and is buried in Trout Creek Cemetery.

Notes:

The son of James Harper. He enlisted in the 11th Texas Inf. at Camp Clough. By October 31, 1862, he was stationed at Camp Nelson, Arkansas. After the war, he returned to Sabine County and married the widow of his former friend and neighbor, Isaac Hickman Low. Elmore was a member of the Littleton Fowler Masonic Lodge in Hemphill and worked as a farmer. (White and Toole, p 40).

Kay Parker McCary shows that a military marker only is in the Spring Hill Cemtery of Sabine County, showing Co. F 11th Reg Texas Inf, CSA. His wife was shown as Julia Ann Lane.
