This was ca 1917, and he was a resident of Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He indicated he had dark brown hair and dark brown eyes, and was of medium build. On the SSDI, he was listed as A. McLemore.

    J. C. Fairchild and Shannon Radford show that he married second Lola Jane Hanberry (1906-1992). Radford indicates that he and Lola had seven children.

    Martha McLemore, his widow, applied for a confederate widow's pension, based on the service of her late husband Joseph, on 17 July 1906. She was 74 years of age at the time, and stated she had 5 sons and 4 daughters. She was a resident of Perry County, Mississippi.

    She stated Joseph enlisted in 1862, while a resident of Perry County. He was in Company C, Ninth Mississippi Regiment for about three years, Capt. P K Moyers.

    Joseph died in 1905.
