His Texas Death Certificate shows he was a son of Whitt CLEGG, born in Georgia, and Lucy THAMES, born in Texas. Edward was born in Texas, and worked as an oil field worker. He died in an automobile accident. A photo of his headstone can be found on FindAGrave. It is inscribed, "Thy Trials Ended Thy Rest is Won." On his headstone, his date of birth is instead listed as 11 Sept 1922, one year earlier than what his Texas Death Certificate shows (11 Sept 1923).
