    Involved in the Christmas Day, 1883 shootout in McDade, Texas. Two of his brother-in-laws, Jack and Az Beatey were both killed, with Robert and another brother-in-law, Heywood Beatey, surviving.

    Robert married Eliza Ann Batey on 24 Feb 1879 in McDade, Bastrop County, Texas. Eliza (daughter of Walter Warsham Batey and Eliza Evaline Gober) was born on 22 May 1851 in Mississippi; died about 1936 in Dallas County, Texas. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
