    Notes:

    Married:
At the time of the 1920 Sabine County, Texas census, Thomas and Martha Felts had eight children living at home with them, ranging from 32 year old William to 9 year old Robert. They lived next door to 31 year old Walter Felts. He is assumed to be their son based in their last name, their proximity, his age and place of birth, and the place of birth of his parents per the census records. This is based solely on census information, and has not yet been verified based on other records. Additionally, 27 year old Virgil D. Felts (Household #345-365) and 27 year old Clarence E. Felts (Household #358-378) are also assumed to be sons based on their last name, ages, place of birth and the places of births of their parents. This also is based soley on census records.

Helen Gomer Schluter, a granddaughter, self-published a book titled "The Thomas Jefferson Felts Family of Mississippi and Sabine County, Texas, Including the Burkett and Polk Families" in June 1988.

    Children:
    1. William L. Felts was born about 1888 in Mississippi; and died.

    Notes:

\\According to the book "Sabine County Marriages 1875-1900 1900-1910 Prior to 1875" by Blanche Toole, "Gooch, C.P. (married) R.J. Harper 3 July 1888 by M. Youngblood. Based on the following census records, it appears she was born in approximately 1868, and would have been about 20 years old when she married.

Roxie appears to be the daughter of James Robert Harper and Delia Rice, both of whom were born in Mississippi. At the time of the 1880 Sabine County census, they had a 12 year old daughter named Jane. There are no other Harper families in Sabine county with a daughter of that age.

    Notes:

In a family history prepared by his niece, Katherine Allen Tirado, he was instead shown as being born on April 21, 1842 in Albany, Georgia.

White and Toole show him as a son of Rev. William Maund. "The Maund brothers, Hardie, Wm, and Matt, came to America and also rec'd Crown Grants of land in Va. Rev. Wm. Maund (the son of William) and his wife Angelina moved to Alabama then to Jasper County, Texas. He organized and was pastor of the first Baptist Church in Jasper."

They further note that he "Became active in politics and served Sabine County in the State Legislature for a number of years. He was Sabine County Judge for 17 years and postmaster of Sabinetown for 10 years."

In her annontated transcription of the Hemphill City Cemetery, Kay Parker McCary shows, in error, that he was a son of William L. and Susan J. Maund. William L. Maund was actually his older half brother, and Susan Josephine Cowart Maund his sister-in-law.

On his FindAGrave memorial, created by A. Liem, Henry Clay Maund is shown as a "Son of Rev. William W Maund and Caroline Kirksey [nee Young]. Half-brother of William Lott Maund, first Mayor of Center, Shelby Co, Texas." This corresponds with census records.

?.at Sabinetown, south, in which?loyal and devoted member until God called her home.

"Miss Pattie" as she was fondly called lived a life of love and service exemplifying the life of our Lord. "Who went about doing good, ministering to the sick and needy---obeying the injunctions of scripture where we are told, that pure and undefiled religion before God the Father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in time of their afflictions and to keep ones self unspotted from the world and her entire life was lived in harmony with this scripture and its teachings. All her life was thusly lived in Sabine County.

The above named relatives and a host of life long friends mourn her going.
"Servant of God, well done, Thy glorious warfare is past, The battle is fought, the victory won ___And thou are crowned at last."

The funeral was conducted from the First Methodist Church, the pastor officiating. Interment was made in the Hemphill cemetery.
