Mark Tracey Gay, on "The Mark Gay Ancestry Page" updated September 6, 2000, had the following notes for Amelia Counts:

Mrs. W.D. Gay died Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs.
Effie Williams in Walters. She was born Sept. 11, 1864 in Banner,
Miss., and was married Dec. 24, 1882. Two of her children preceded
her. She was a charter member of the Emerson church. She is
survived by Mrs. Williams, Mrs. Fred DeSpain and Alvie of Walters,
Mrs. Ed Cason and Mrs. Bernice King of Frederick and Mrs.
Willie Clarkson of Vernon, Tex. Services were held at Walters.

Married:
The 1900 Census shows they had been married 15 years, and that Amelia was the mother of 6 children, 5 of whom were living. By 1910, it was shown she had 8 children, 7 of whom were living.

1. Mary Gertrude Gay was born in Oct 1886 in Water Valley, Yalobusha County, Mississippi; died in 1955 in Chickasha, Grady County, Oklahoma.
2. Minnie G. Gay was born in Mar 1889 in Water Valley, Yalobusha County, Mississippi; and died.
3. Zettie Radford Gay was born on 14 Jul 1892 in McKinney, Collin County, Texas; died on 2 Nov 1954 in Tulia, Swisher County, Texas; was buried in Walters Cemetery, Walters, Cotton County, Oklahoma.
4. Bonnie Gay was born in May 1893 in Texas; and died.
5. Nellie G. Gay was born in Jun 1898 in Indian Territory.
6. Effie F. Gay was born about 1901 in Indian Territory.
7. Alva M. Gay was born about 1905 in Indian Territory.
