    Married:
    James and Emma farmed south east of Milligan in Atlanta Precinct, Saline County. To them tow sons were born: Joseph E. and Edward J.

    Joseph married Pat BECKER, daughter of Cyril BECKER and Margaret LEIF. They farm north of Milligan, raising cattle and hogs. They have three children, who all graduated from Exeter High School. (1) Christine married David MICHL, a farmer. They live south of Friend. Christine works part time at Johnson' Drug Store in Friend. They have a son Jonathan. (2) Margie went to school in Lincoln and and now works for an insurance company in Lincoln. (3) Richard works with his parents and helps others where-ever needed.

    Edward first married Patricia MICHL. They live in Exeter. Pat worked in school and Edward on construction. They had two children who graduated from Exeter High School: Jody and Lyle. Jody married Bruce FILIPI. She works at Geneva State Bank. Bruce works in construction in Saline County. They live in Milligan. Lyle married Shawn BRETTA of Lincoln. They live in Davenport, Iowa, where Lyle goes to Chiropractic school and Shawn works at a clothing store. Edward married second Lila MEYER, in March 1978, the daughter of Glenn MEYER of Ohiowa. They have a son, Corey. Lila works at the Geneva State Bank. They live in Milligan.

    Emma and James sold their farm to Joseph and Blanche CAPEK, and in 1961 moved to Milligan. (Milligan, p 338).

    Notes:

    At the time of the 1900 census, she was living in Liberty Township, Fillmore County, Nebraska with her six youngest children, ans shown as a widow, born in August 1852 in Bohemia. The 1910 census showed her to be the mother of 13 children, eight of whom were still living.

    Notes:

    Mike and Mary Simacek came by boat to the United States from their native land of Bohemia in June of 1886, docking in Baltimore, Maryland. From there, they took a train to Nebraska and on the the home of their daughter, Mrs. John KASAK, northeast of Milligan, living near there the rest of their lives. They had two children, Mike, Jr. born in 1846, who married Mary POLAK and a daughter, Marie Simacek, born January 28, 1840 [note this dates is thought to be erroneous], married John A. KASAK, Sr. Mike and his wife Marie are presumed to be buried in unmarked graves in the Kasak Cemetery. (Milligan, p. 481).
