    In the STRIFFLER-BENKELMAN BROADCAST, Volume 8, September 3, 1945, in the column on page 2 titled "Around the World With Our Service Boys" it was written that "Don McLeod is located in the Pacific Area. The following year's newsletter, Volume 9, September 2, 1946, in a column titled "Our Service Men Who Have Returned Home", it was noted that Donald McLeod had returned to his home in Detroit.



    Donald married Betty R. Mark on 7 Oct 1943 in Watertown, Jefferson County, New York. Betty (daughter of Edward Albert Mark and Mary Jane Leitch) was born on 7 Sep 1922 in Cass City, Tuscola County, Michigan; died on 5 May 2002 in Flint, Genesee County, Michigan. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    Miss Betty Mark Marries Corporal

    The Methodist parsonage of Watertown, New York, was the scenes of a wedding Thursday evening, Oct. 7, at eight o'clock when Miss Betty R. Mark, duaghter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Mark, became the bride of Cpl. Donald McLeod of Pine Camp, Watertown, New York, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh McLeod of Sandusky. Rev. Albert Abbot, pastor of the church, officiated. Mrs. Albert Abbott and a soldier friend of the groom were the attendants.

    The bride chose for her weddign a sutie of navy blue with which she wore a hat of soldier blue and a gardenia corsage.

    The groom was on leave from Thursday until Sunday, Oct. 10. Mrs. McLeod is on leave from her position in the office of hte Frutchey Bean Co. here and left Tuesday, Oct. 5, for Watertown. She expects to return here the last of the month.


    The September 7, 1963 issue of the STRIFFLER-BENKELMAN BROADCAST (Vol. 23), reported that the McLeod's had hosted an exchange student, Jorge Perera, from Yucatan, Mexico in Sandusky for the academic year.


    They were the parents of Michael and Mark McLEOD. As of the publication date of Art Peck's book, Betty was living in Flushing, Genesse County, Michigan. She appears to have married a Mr. Aube prior to 1998, at which time she was living in Davison.
