Notes:

When he registered for the draft during the First World War he was a resident of Bronson, Texas, and worked as a rural mail carrier. H ewas single, tall and slender, with gray eyes and dark hair. On the 1930 census he was shown as a Land Inspector, and in 1940 he was listed as a Teacher.
