  1. 1.  Fern B. Cox was born on 24 Aug 1899 in Tracy, LaPorte County, Indiana; died on 13 Mar 1961 in La Porte County, Indiana; was buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Michigan City, Laporte County, Indiana.

    Notes:

    Mrs. Fern B. Machalleck, 61, 317 E. Seventh St., died at her home yesterday noon, after an illness of five months.

    Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Root Funeral Home with the Rev. Christian W. Kocher, pastor of the First Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home this evening.

    Mrs. Machalleck was born at Tracy, Ind., Aug. 24, 1899, the daughter of Eli and Rachel Bush Cox. She was a teacher in the Pine Twp. School for 15 years. On Dec. 24, 1936, she was married at Union Mills to George Machalleck, who survives.

    Also surviving are a son, Fred W. Schultz, this city; two grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Grace Bowell, LaPorte, and Mrs. Clara Sensow, Union Mills, and a brother, Ben Cox, Union Mills.

    Mrs. Machalleck was a member of the First Methodist Church and the Ladies Circle of the church and was vice president of the WCTU.
