Also the parents of Harry Maund? (Source: 2004 obituary of Pattie Lillian Cordray). Harry not located on the 1920 or 1930 census. Perhaps he died young? The 1910 census shows that Annie was the mother of two children, only one of them still living, daughter Pattie.

    Notes:

In a family history prepared by his niece, Katherine Allen Tirado, he was instead shown as being born on April 21, 1842 in Albany, Georgia.

White and Toole show him as a son of Rev. William Maund. "The Maund brothers, Hardie, Wm, and Matt, came to America and also rec'd Crown Grants of land in Va. Rev. Wm. Maund (the son of William) and his wife Angelina moved to Alabama then to Jasper County, Texas. He organized and was pastor of the first Baptist Church in Jasper."

They further note that he "Became active in politics and served Sabine County in the State Legislature for a number of years. He was Sabine County Judge for 17 years and postmaster of Sabinetown for 10 years."

In her annontated transcription of the Hemphill City Cemetery, Kay Parker McCary shows, in error, that he was a son of William L. and Susan J. Maund. William L. Maund was actually his older half brother, and Susan Josephine Cowart Maund his sister-in-law.

On his FindAGrave memorial, created by A. Liem, Henry Clay Maund is shown as a "Son of Rev. William W Maund and Caroline Kirksey [nee Young]. Half-brother of William Lott Maund, first Mayor of Center, Shelby Co, Texas." This corresponds with census records.

"Miss Pattie" as she was fondly called lived a life of love and service exemplifying the life of our Lord. All her life was thusly lived in Sabine County.

The above named relatives and a host of life long friends mourn her going.
"Servant of God, well done, Thy glorious warfare is past, The battle is fought, the victory won ___And thou are crowned at last."

Virgie Speights, in OLD TIMERS OF SABINE COUNTY, TEXAS, in a column about Pearl Chambers Lord Greer, dated January 30, 1964, wrote that "Adam Bennett and Mary Jane Elizabeth Harvey, came with their slaves from Louisiana, just ahead of the sheriff. He was chasing them to take away their slaves in connection with some sort of lien connected with the estate of Mrs. Bennett's mother. They barely made it to Texas and safety in time to camp in the 'sand field' now known as "Bennet Field," just on the Texas side of the Sabine. The Louisiana authorities camped on the opposite side of the river before frustratedly returning home the next day. Then Adam staked his claim atop a nearby hill with gently sloping fields towards the river. The place is still called the "Bennett Place." There is a family graveyard nearby. The elder Bennetts had come to East Feliciana Parish from Alabama, and his father, a silversmith, had come from Germany." In a later article, this one profiling Abbie Della Bennett Travis, January 27, 1966, she added that the lien was due to "a matter of a few unpaid debts. The slaves were to be confiscated, so the Bennett's, their two children, and Zelotus Margaret Ann Boyd Harvey raced to the Sabine River and safety which they attained just before dark."
