Ada Evening News - June 4, 1989 Bette Threlkeld Ada-Services for Bette Threlkeld, 74, Ada, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Southwest Church of Christ, Dr. John Stuckey conducting rites. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Threlkeld died June 2, 1989, at a local nursing home following a long illness. She was born Aug. 18, 1914 in Olney, to William A. and Josie Darnell Droke. She moved to Ada as a child and was a graduate of Ada High School. She retired from the Ada Blue Cross office in 1974 after 20 years employment. She was a longtime active member of Southwest Church of Christ. On Jan. 20, 1935, she and Creston Threlkeld were married at Wewoka. Survivors include her husband, Creston, of the home; two sons, Jim Threlkeld, Mesquite, Texas, Gary Threlkeld, The Colony, Texas; one brother, Jerry Droke, Ada; one sister Essie Frye, Ada; and two grandchildren. Bearers will be Elmer Gerth, Alvin Jamar, Glendel Hatton, Haskell Hill, Leo Sims and Harold Blackburn. The family says those who wish may make contributions in Mrs Threlkeld's memory to Tipton Home, Box 37, Tipton, Okla. 73570. Criswell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
