Larry Crocker supplied a copy of his Louisiana Death Certificate. James showed his parents as Elijah Kelley and Nancy Sheppherd, both born in Mississippi. He was listed as a retired salesman, and died of hypostatic pneumonia. His address at the time of his death was North Sixth Street in Oakdale.

James married Martha Jane Travis on 21 Feb 1888. Martha (daughter of James Cannon Travis and Sophronia Pauline White) was born on 22 Feb 1868 in Hemphill, Sabine County, Texas; died on 28 Dec 1958 in Oakdale, Allen Parish, Louisiana; was buried in Cryer Cemetery, Oakdale, Allen Parish, Louisiana. 2. John Cleveland Kelley was born before 1900.
3. Riley Brian Kelley was born before 1902.
4. Walter Theo Kelley was born before 1904.
5. Mae Kelley was born on 21 Sep 1906 in Yellowpine, Sabine County, Texas; died on 31 Mar 1976 in Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas; was buried in Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches, Jefferson County, Texas.
6. Ethel Kelley was born on 4 Sep 1909.

I am Yvonne Kattawar and I am looking for information you might have for my gr grandfather Elijah Kelly, born in Sept.l825 in Decatur, Ga. I am trying to find his parents. All I know is that they were born in N. Carolina. I have located him on the 1860 census records in Jasper Co, Tx, 1870 and 1880 he was in Newton Co, Tx. Your Travis line in Sabine Co.,with connections to EK is not a coincidence. My gr grandfather was Cannon Travis, brother to Richard Henry. Cannon's daughter, Martha Jane (my grandmother) married James E. Kelly, whose father was Elijah.Thanks for your help.
