  2. 5.  Anna Elizabeth Walker was born on 3 Sep 1884 in Sabine County, Texas (daughter of John Bailey Walker and Eunice "Una" Carter White); died on 16 Jan 1909 in Sabine County, Texas.

    Notes:

Presumed to be the second wife of William E. Campbell from 1) Sabine County Marriage Records and 2) proximity of families. They lived nearby in Precinct 1 of Sabine County in 1910 and 1920. The marriage occured after the 1900 census, and Anna died before the 1910 census, so this can not be verified through census records.

James married Mary "Mollie"Elizabeth Carter in 1897. Mary (daughter of Bradford Stephen Carter and Elizabeth Margaret Mason) was born on 18 Aug 1882 in Pendleton, Sabine Parish, Louisiana; died on 2 Oct 1956 in Sabine County, Texas; was buried in Spring Hill Cemetery, Hemphill, Sabine County, Texas. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

  4. 7.  Mary "Mollie"Elizabeth Carter was born on 18 Aug 1882 in Pendleton, Sabine Parish, Louisiana (daughter of Bradford Stephen Carter and Elizabeth Margaret Mason); died on 2 Oct 1956 in Sabine County, Texas; was buried in Spring Hill Cemetery, Hemphill, Sabine County, Texas.

    Notes:

Called Mollie. At the time of the 1900 Sabine County census, her date of birth was instead shown as August 1879, as was that of her brother, Albert, living with Mollie and James in 1900. It appears they were twins. However other records seem to indicate their year of birth as 1882.

At the time of the 1910 Sabine County Census, they had been shown as married for 11 years, and as the mother of six children, all living.

    Notes:

    Married:
Carl Evans also lists a daughter "Abbie" who is not shown on the various census listings for the family. Perhaps she died young.

Their double tombstone at Spring Hill Cemetery reads "Dear parents, though we miss you much we know you rest with God."

  2. 9.  Rebecca Ann Catherine Montgomery was born on 28 May 1830 in Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana; died before 1860 in Sabine Parish, Louisiana.

    Notes:

Could she be a daughter of Joseph T. and Lavinia Montgomery of Sabine Parish, Lousiana??? She and her children were living in an adjacent residence at the time of the 1860 Sabine Parish LA federal census.

    Children:
    1. Lucretia P. Campbell was born about 1848 in Sabine Parish, Louisiana; and died.
    2. Joseph M. Campbell was born about 1852 in Sabine Parish, Louisiana; and died.

  3. 10.  John Bailey Walker was born in Dec 1839 in Bibb County, Alabama; died on 25 Jun 1917 in Sabine County, Texas.

John married Eunice "Una" Carter White on 6 Mar 1883 in Sabine County, Texas. Eunice (daughter of Henry Strickland White, Sr and Ann Vardeman) was born on 7 Jun 1852 in Texas; died on 16 Jul 1925. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

  4. 11.  Eunice "Una" Carter White was born on 7 Jun 1852 in Texas (daughter of Henry Strickland White, Sr and Ann Vardeman); died on 16 Jul 1925.

    Notes:

On the 1920 Sabine County census, she was living in the household of her son, John B. Walker in Precinct #1 of Sabine County, household #579/601. She was listed as a 67 year old widow.

    Notes:

    Married:
John Walker, a 42 year old Widower, lived next door to 28 year old Eunice White, who was living at home with her parents, at the time of the 1880 census.

Charles White also lists them as being the parents of a Emma Walker, dob unknown, who married Bence Ener. He cites Mrs. A.V. White, THEY CAME TO TEXAS. However, I was unable to locate Emma on the 1900 census with her parents. She would have had to have been under age 17 at the time (The Walker's were married in 1883) or already married. However, Bency Ener was still living at home in 1900, an 11 year old son of Mart and Harriett Ener in Precinct #7, #122/122. Additionally, in Sabine County Marriage Records 1900-1910 by Toole, it is shown that EVA Walker married Bencie Ener on 6 March 1910.

    Children:
    1. 5. Anna Elizabeth Walker was born on 3 Sep 1884 in Sabine County, Texas; died on 16 Jan 1909 in Sabine County, Texas.
    2. Evaline Emma Walker was born on 19 Nov 1885 in Sabine County, Texas; and died.
    3. Ruth Alice Walker was born on 2 Jan 1887 in Sabine County, Texas; died on 15 Jul 1967; was buried in Spring Hill Cemetery, Hemphill, Sabine County, Texas.
    4. Ella Walker was born on 24 Feb 1889 in Sabine County, Texas; died on 20 Apr 1955 in Yellowpine, Sabine County, Texas; was buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Yellowpine, Sabine County, Texas.
    5. John Bailey Walker, Jr. was born on 12 Feb 1891 in Sabine County, Texas.
    6. Erie James Walker was born on 23 Jun 1892 in Sabine County, Texas; died on 23 Jan 1964 in Jefferson County, Texas; was buried in Hemphill City Cemetery, Hemphill, Sabine County, Texas.

  5. 12.  William Strickland was born about 1842 in Louisiana (son of Noah Strickland and Mary Elizabeth "Polly" Carter); died after 1910.

    Notes:

Bradford Carter, his son Ben, and grandson, John Bradford owned and operated Carter's Ferry for many years. (White and Toole, p 41).

Leatha Betts, a descendant of his eldest daugther, Sarah Elizabeth, show that Bradford was married five times in total, and also indicates that he had three children with Frances Procell, though they were never married. Frances Procell was listed as a housekeeper, age 22, in his home at the time of the 1870 census. Frances Precell, shown as widowed, lived in the adjacent residence at the time of the 1880 census with her three children, Luisia, 14, William, 7, and Lizzie, 5.

Bradford's grave is marked "CSA Homeguards, Masonic Lodge #88"
