Generation: 1

  1. 1.  Elmore Harper was born about 1868 (son of Elmore Harper and Mary Ann Parker); and died.

    Notes:

In 1870, he was living in the household of Elmore (Sr.) amd Mary Ann Harper, who presumably were his parents. In 1880, he is shown as a 13 year old boy living in the household of Jackson and Susan Low, and is listed as "brother." He does not appear to be a brother to Jackson Low or Susan Huddleston Low, however. Presumably he is a brother-in-law to Jackson through Jackson's first marriage to Alma Winnefred Harper.

Elmore married Nancy B. Conner on 13 Jan 1886 in Sabine County, Texas. Nancy (daughter of Willis Conner and Piercy Douglas) was born on 8 Oct 1870 in Sabine County, Texas; died on 8 Sep 1938 in Hemphill, Sabine County, Texas; was buried in Spring Hill Cemetery, Hemphill, Sabine County, Texas. The son of James Harper. He enlisted in the 11th Texas Inf. at Camp Clough. By October 31, 1862, he was stationed at Camp Nelson, Arkansas. After the war, he returned to Sabine County and married the widow of his former friend and neighbor, Isaac Hickman Low. Elmore was a member of the Littleton Fowler Masonic Lodge in Hemphill and worked as a farmer. (White and Toole, p 40).

Kay Parker McCary shows that a military marker only is in the Spring Hill Cemtery of Sabine County, showing Co. F 11th Reg Texas Inf, CSA. His wife was shown as Julia Ann Lane.

Elmore married Mary Ann Parker about 1865. Mary was born about 1824 in Mississippi; and died. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
