    Richard "Rich" Tomasek, 72 years, of Craig, Nebraska passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at the Countryside Home in Madison, NE.

    Rich was born September 8, 1947 to Leonard and Virginia (Eggers) Tomasek at Iva Liles Nursing Home in North Bend, NE. He attended country school and North Bend High School, graduating in 1967. He enlisted in the Army in September of 1968 and was honorably discharged in 1970. On March 12, 1977 he married Marcee Villwok in Oakland, NE. Rich grew up farming, worked construction and became an electronic technician after college. He was proud of his 1967 GTO, loved fishing, football, playing cards and spending time with family.

    Rich is survived by his wife, Marcee of Craig; sons: Todd (Sarah) Tomasek of Papillion, NE, Aaron Tomasek of Lincoln, NE, Arick Tomasek of Lincoln, John Tomasek (Myranda Nerud) of Stanton, NE; brother, Randy (Sharon) Tomasek of Schuyler, NE; sister, Victoria Tomasek of Florida; late father, Leonard Tomasek and mother, Virginia (Eggers) Tomasek of New Port Richey, FL; four grandchildren, Amber and Marissa, Tristen and Katlynn.

    Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.

    Craig-Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Villwok of Craig announce the engagement of their daughter, Marcee to Richard Dean Tomasek, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Tomasek of North Bend.

    Miss Villwok is a graduate of Oakland-Craig High School and was recently employed by Russell Stover Candies Inc. in Lincoln.

    Tomasek is a graduate of North Bend High School and Nebraska Technical College at Milford. He had served with the armed forces and is presently engaged in farming in North Bend.

    The couple is planning a March wedding at the First Lutheran Church in Oakland.

    Leland and Leonard Tomasek were honored as Rob-See-Co Growers of the Year Monday night at a banquet in Waterloo. The North Bend brothers have grown seed corn for Rob-See-Co since 1976.

    The purpose of the dinner was to recognize dealers, their growers and wives, for the job they are doing in seed production and to exchange ideas on doing and even better job in the future.

    Obituary

    Leonard Tomasek, 87 years, of North Bend, NE died Saturday, August 10, 2013 at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont, NE.

    Leonard was born September 6, 1925 in North Bend, NE to John & Lilly (Beznoska) Tomasek. He married Virginia Eggers on August 25, 1946 in Cedar Bluffs, NE. Leonard farmed with his father and brother. He retired in 1987.

    He was a member of St. John's Ridgeley Lutheran Church at Scribner, NE. Leonard enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling and took pride in his lawn.

    Survivors include his wife, Virginia; sons, Richard (Marci) Tomasek of Oakland, NE and Randy (Sharon) Tomasek of Schuyler; daughter, Vicki Jean Tomasek of Tampa, FL; sister, Caroline Mastny of Schuyler; brothers-in-law, Willis Eggers of Paradise, CA and Gilbert Eggers of Fremont; 6 grandchildren, Todd (Sarah) Tomasek of Omaha, Aaron Tomasek of Lincoln, Arick (Christina) Tomasek of Lincoln, John Tomasek of Craig, NE, John (Jodi) Limbach of Yutan, NE and Rachel Tomasek of Shelton, NE; step-grandchild, Jeremy (Cheryl) Vanicek of Omaha; 7 great grandchildren, Nile, Skyler, Tristan, Katlynn, Amber, Marissa and McKinsey Tomasek; 2 step great grandchildren, Zachary & Kendall Vanicek.

    He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Leland Tomasek.

    Funeral Service will be 10:30 A.M., Thursday, August 15, 2013 at St. John's Ridgeley Lutheran Church near Scribner, NE. The Rev. Dr. Nicki McIntyre will officiate. Visitation will be 3-8 P.M. Wednesday with the family receiving friends from 6-8 P.M. all at Moser Memorial Chapel in North Bend. Visitation will continue Thursday one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at 1:00 P.M. Thursday at the Killian Cemetery, near Morse Bluff, NE. Memorials may be given to St. John's Ridgeley Lutheran Church, American Cancer Society and the North Bend Library.

    Leroy J. Villwok, 89 years, of Fremont, NE formerly of Oakland, NE died Thursday, September 24, 2015 at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident on September 11, 2015. Leroy was born January 7, 1926 in Elkhorn, Nebraska to Julius and Meta (Labs) Villwok.

    He grew up in Waterloo, Nebraska. He served in the U.S. Army from November 30, 1953 to March 2, 1955 and was stationed in Japan. Leroy married Donna Rae Hirt on January 19, 1952 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Elkhorn, NE. He bought the family farm near Waterloo, NE in 1958 and moved to Craig, NE in 1970, where he farmed for 38 years. He sold that farm in 1997 and moved to Oakland. He spent 15 winters in Apache Junction, Arizona. He was a member and president of the Missouri River Volunteer C.B. Club, past member of the American Legion in Craig, section leader of Rain Dance Mobile Home Park in Arizona. He is survived by his wife, Donna Rae of Fremont; son, Mark and wife, Sara Villwok of Coolidge, Arizona; daughters, Marcee and husband, Richard Tomasek of Craig and Rhonda and husband, Gale Miller of Soldier, Iowa; grandchildren, Aaron, Arick, John, Todd, Andrea, Nick, Grace, Jacob, Ryan, and Jared; great grandchildren, Tristen, Katlynn, Amber, Marissa, Katelyn, Kyle, Gavin, and Harper.

    He was preceded in death by his parents.

    Funeral service will be 10:30 A.M., Monday, September 28, 2015 at First Lutheran Church in Fremont. The Rev. Marty Tollefson will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday from 1 PM to 4 PM at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Military honors will be conducted by the Fremont Honor Guard of V.F.W. Post #854 and American Legion Post #20. Burial will be at the Prospect Hill Cemetery in Elkhorn, NE at a later date.

    Memorials may be directed to the family for a designation yet to be determined.

    Donna Rae Villwok was born on Aug. 29, 1932, at Waterloo, Nebraska, to Ben and Agnes (Fallon) Hirt. She passed away Wednesday Oct. 11, 2023, at Oakland Heights in Oakland, Nebraska. Donna grew up on the family farm near Waterloo and attended Waterloo Public School. She graduated in May 1950 as the salutatorian of her class.

    She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Catholic Church in Valley in 1947. During summers she detasseled corn and hoed beans. After graduation she worked at Boys Town running their robotype machines printing out contribution letters.

    She married Leroy Villwok of Waterloo on Jan. 19, 1952, at the Lutheran Church in Elkhorn, Nebraska. After they were married, they lived in many different places. On June 11, 1957, their first daughter, Marcee Ellen, was born, two years later Rhonda Rae was born on July 16, 1959, and five years later Mark Leroy was born on March 11, 1964.
    In March 1970 they bought and moved to a farm outside of Craig, Nebraska, where they lived for 27 years. They joined the Lutheran Church of Oakland. When they retired from farming, they moved to Oakland and wintered in Arizona for the next 15 years.

    In 2011 they moved to Fremont. Leroy and Donna were married for 63 years when Leroy passed away from injuries sustained in a car accident on Sept. 24, 2015.

    She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Leroy Villwok.

    Survivors include daughters: Marcee (Randy) Schmidt of Oakland, Rhonda (Gale) Miller of Soldier, Iowa; son, Mark (Sara) Villwok of Coolidge, Arizona; 9 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

    Memorial Service: Sunday, Oct. 15, 2023, 3 p.m., at First Evangelical Lutheran Church.
    Memorial Visitation: One hour prior to service at the church.

    Private Family Burial: Prospect Hill Cemetery, Elkhorn.

    North Bend--Services for John Tomasek, 85, of rural North Bend will be at 2 pm Wednesday at First United Methodist Church here.

    Tomasek, a retired farmer, died Sunday evening at Memorial Hospital of Dodge County.

    He was born on June 4, 1893 in Morse Bluff, and was a lifetime resident of the area.

    On March 5, 1913, he married the former Lillie Beznoska in Fremont. She survives.

    Tomasek belonged to the First United Methodist Church.

    He is survived by two sons, Leonard and Leland, both of North Bend; a daughter, Mrs. Caroline Mastney, of Schuyler; a sister, Mabel Melton, Fremont, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

    The Reb. Anderson Kwakin will officiate at Wednesday's services. Burial will be in Killian Cemetery, southwest of Morse Bluff.

    Moser Memorial Chapel, here, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation begins at 11 am Tuesday.

    A memorial fund has been established to the church.

    Leonard Tomasek reported to Charles Strong that his mother discovered that the date of birth shown on her delayed birth certificate was not correct. She therefore took her son Leland's birthdate and used it as her own as well.

    Lillie Tomasek buried Sept. 15

    The funeral was held last Thursday for Lillie Tomasek, 89, of North Bend at the Methodist Church, North Bend, with Rev. Gary Main officiating.

    Mrs. Tomasek died at the Senior Citizens Nursing Home, Schuyler. She was a member of the Methodist Church and the Rebekah Lodge of North Bend.

    She married John Tomasek on March 5, 1913 in Fremont.

    Survivors include two sons, Leonard and Leland, both of North Bend; one daughter, Mrs. Caroline Mastny, Schuyler; six grandchildren; five great granchildren; one brother Adolph Beznoska, Lawton, Okla., and one sister Mrs. Millie Arthur, Fremont.

    Burial was in Killian Cemetery, west of Morse Bluff. Moser Memorial Chapel, North Bend, was in charge of the arrangements.

    Honored on Golden Wedding Anniversary

    Mr. and Mrs. John Tomasek Jr. celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Tuesday, March 5 at their home, with a dinner for relatives and a party in the evening for neighbors and friends.

    The couple was married March 5, 1913 in Fremont. Their attendants were Miss Anna Soukup of Cedar Bluffs and the late brother of the bride, Louis Beznoska. They moved to a farm northwest of North Bend were they are still living.

    Mrs. and Mrs. Tomasek have three children: a daughter, Mrs. Louis Mastny of Schuyler, and two sons, Leonard and Leland of North Bend. They have four grandchildren, Richard, Randy, Vicki Jean and Jeannie Lynn.

    Couple celebrate 65th

    Mr. and Mrs. John Tomasek celebrated their Wedding Anniversary Sunday with a dinner in the home of their son, Mrs. and Mrs. Leland Tomasek and family. Also hosting the event were the couples other children, Mrs. and Mrs. Louis (Caroline) Mastny of Schuyler, and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Tomasek.

    Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Richard Tomasek, V??? Tomasek, Jeannie, Gary and Steven Tomasek, A?? Kucera, Millie Arthur, Raymond Beznoska, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Beznoska, Leah and Frank.

    Afternoon guests were Mrs. and Mrs. Emil Ruzicka, Mrs. Hilda Warner, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Ruzicka, daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Ruzicka and family and Mrs. Gene Ruzicka and family, Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Villwok and Mark of Craig.

    Mr. and Mrs. John Tomasek were married May 5, 1913 at Fremont. She is the former Lillie Beznoska of Cedar Bluffs. They have spent their married live farming in the North Bend area.

    The couple have six grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
