Found a note from the Geronimo "The New Era., dated May 20, 1909: "Miss Allie Choat returned home Saturday with her sister Mrs. Strong of Shawnee."

Annie married Leon S. "Lee" Strong on 22 Dec 1907 in Hulen, Cotton County, Oklahoma. Leon (son of Ralph Brainerd Strong and Mary Ella Hall) was born on 10 Apr 1884 in Farmersville, Collin County, Texas; died on 29 Dec 1915 in Lawton, Comanche County, Oklahoma; was buried in Highland Cemetery, Lawton, Comanche County, Oklahoma. Charles Strong found the following abstract from the GERONOMO OKLAHOMA ADVOCATE 2 Jan 1908?, page 8

"Mr. Lee Strong and Miss Shoots (sic) were quietly married at the bride's home, five miles south of Hulen."

Hulen is 5 miles west of Walthers and about 4 miles north of Five Mile Corner.

In the PROSPERITY, the following article was found 26 Dec 1907, "Lee Strong and Eva Choat were married Sunday by Rev. Jordan."

According to the marriage license, found on file in Comanche County, Oklahoma, witnesses to the wedding were Burt R. Strong and Andy E. Choate, by J.W. Jordon, minister of M.E. Church South of Lawton in Comanche County on the 22 of December, 1907.

Married:
The 1910 census (ED#44, page 121, line 37, Hulen, Comanche, Oklahoma) shows that the Choate's were married for 27 years, and were the parents of 9 children. It appears they had two sets of twins. The youngest twins were shown on the census, dated May of 1910 as being 1 and 7/12 years old. Ellen's parents were born in Texas, David's father born in Texas and his mother in Alabama. This part of the county was split in 1912 into Cotton County, Oklahoma.
