    Notes:

    His obituary, transcribed by Jo Peck, reads: Harlyn L. Bossert, 65, of Greenfield, died Friday, December 12, 1986. He was an usher at St. John's Church, a member of Cadahy VFW Post No. 2895 and a State Farm Insurance agent for 20 years. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 16 at 10 a.m. in St. John's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Carl Krueger officiating. VFW Post ritual was held at 7 p.m. Monday. He is survived by his wife Clarice (nee Post); three sons, James, David and Tom; three daughters Suzanne Finn, Nancy Dehne, and Kathleen Maki; on brother, Louis Bossert of Lancaster; one sister, Ruth Houghton; nine grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Memorials may be given to St. John's Church or the Heart Fund.

    Jo further notes that Harlyn was in the Army Air Force from Milwaukee 1 Sept 1941, San Antonio, Texas Aviation Cadet 28 Feb 1942, Staff Sergeant 1 June 1944. Out 11 Sept 1945 from Fort Sheridan. Left for overseas from Bangor, Maine 9 April 1944 to Belfast, Ireland. First flight was 12 Mar 1944 over Germany and his last 26 August 1944. He flew 33 missions in total.

    Her obituary was published in the Thursday, March 27, 1947 Cassville, Wisconsin newspaper. Jo Peck provided the following excerpt: "Mrs. Harry Bossert Died in Lancaster. Funeral services for Mrs. Harry Bossert, 53, Lancaster, will be held Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Bethlehem Evangelical and Reformed church at Lancaster. Burial will be inthe Boice Prarie Cemetery. Rev. John A. Gerber of Lancaster and the Rev. J.J. Lippoldt of Platteville will officiate. Funeral arrangements are in charge of the Hoskins Funeral Home. Mrs. Bossert died early Tuesday evening, after having suffered a stroke several weeks ago. She was thought to be improving and news of her death came as a shock to her Cassville friends. Mrs. Bossert was born March 7, 1894, a daughter of Christian and Amelia Bryhan. Survivors are the husband, a daughter, Ruth, a high school senior; two sons, Harlyn of Racine and Louis of Potosi, two brothers, Elmer Bryhan, Lancaster, Art Bryhan, Potosi, and a sister, Erme Bryhan, Lancaster. The Bosserts were long-time residents of the Cassville area, moving to Lancaster last fall."

    Jo Peck writes that "Clara and Harry Bossert were married at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Christian BRYHAN, in South Lancaster at high noon, and marched down the stairs to the playing of the march by the twin sister of the groom. Clara wore "white georgette, crepe trimmings of white messaline and veil and carried a huge bouquet of cream rosebuds. The worthy young couple will go to housekeeping on the Bossert farm after returning from their honeymoon in Minnesota...the bride, though a stranger in this locality, has won many friends during her short calls here."
