    Ora Lee Breedlove

    Ora Lee Breedlove, 89, of Milam died at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Feb 6, 1995, at Twin Lakes Care Center in San Augustine.

    Born Sept. 2, 1905, in Milam as a daughter of the late W. J. and Ida (Neal) Lord, she had formerly lived in the Shreveport area several years before returning to Sabine County in 1974. She was a homemaker and member of New Hope Baptist Church.

    Survivors: a daughter, Linda Laukhuf of Euless; three brothers, Cullen Lord of San Augustine, O.B. Lord of Milam, and Jack Lord of Austin; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

    Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel of Starr Funeral Home Inc in Hemphill with Bro. Milton Powell officiating. Interment followed at Myrtle Springs Cemetery in Geneva.

    Pallbearers: Jimmy Vickers, Vance Vickers, George Cox, Jimmy Clark, Steve Laukhauf, and Doug Laukhauf.

    Shown as Joel? on the 1870 Sabine County Census. Dale Rubel shows that he married first Martha Vickers, a daughter of Austin Vickers and Susannah Halbert. Bridgett Kearney also shows multiple marriages, first to Martha Emma Vickers/Halbert Mason, a daughter of James "Gov" Mason Sr and Susannah Halbert (note differing parentage...not proven by census records, plus her DOB per Bridgett was five years prior to the marriage of her purported parents)...second to Anna FRANKLIN and third to Alice Leona Moran.

    Joseph married Martha Emma Vickers. Martha (daughter of Austin J. Vickers and Susannah "Susan" Halbert) was born on 20 Oct 1859 in Sabine County, Texas; died on 24 May 1891 in Sabine County, Texas. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    Notes:

    He died during the Civil War. Dale Rubel shows that they had a daughter, Martha Emma Vickers, who was the first wife of Joseph Bennett Neal, a son of Permelia MASON.

    Austin married Susannah "Susan" Halbert in Sabine County, Texas. Susannah (daughter of Joel Halbert and Tabitha Elizabeth Cox) was born on 5 Dec 1844 in Milam, Sabine County, Texas; died on 20 Nov 1924 in Texas; was buried in Mason Cemetery, Milam, Sabine County, Texas.   4. 15.  Susannah "Susan" Halbert was born on 5 Dec 1844 in Milam, Sabine County, Texas (daughter of Joel Halbert and Tabitha Elizabeth Cox); died on 20 Nov 1924 in Texas; was buried in Mason Cemetery, Milam, Sabine County, Texas.

    Notes:

    The 1900 census shows her as the mother of 12 children, and in 1910 it was reported that she was instead the mother of 11. Both census reports indicate only 7 still living.
