Helen Lourene McGraw, 87, of Buna, Texas, died Friday, April 2, 2010, at her residence.

Mrs. McGraw was a former longtime resident of Pineland, Texas.

Survivors: three sons, Shelton McGraw and wife Mary of Evadale, Texas, Allen McGraw and wife Ramonda of Carthage, Texas, and Mark McGraw of Buna, Texas; one daughter, Linda Gravis and husband Johnny of Evadale, Texas; two sisters, Katherine McDaniel of Mauriceville, Texas, and Dwanda McCroskey of Rosevine, Texas; two brothers, Donald Warden and J.D. Warden, both of Roganville, Texas; 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sim McGraw; a son, Loy McGraw; and a daughter, Mona McGraw.

Funeral services are set for 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 5, at New Beginnings Church in Evadale, Texas. Interment will follow at Mt. Sinai Cemetery in Sabine County, Texas.

Visitation will be held Sunday, April 4, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Sim (son of James Thoroughgood "Thurrie" McGraw and Ollie Elizabeth McDaniel) was born on 24 Oct 1914 in Fairdale, Sabine County, Texas; died on 1 Jan 1974 in Jasper County, Texas; was buried in Mount Sinai Cemetery, Fairdale, Sabine County, Texas. 1. Loy Glenn McGraw was born on 13 Oct 1946 in Bronson, Sabine County, Texas; died on 5 Nov 2002 in Lufkin, Angelina County, Texas; was buried in Mount Sinai Cemetery, Fairdale, Sabine County, Texas.

Notes:

His Texas Death Certificate shows him "Jesse D. (only) Warden" and lists him as a son of John Warden and Alice Rice. In 1930, a cousin, Earnest Rice was a boarder with his family in Newton County, Texas. His occupation was shown as farmer, and he was a resident of rural route 1, Pineland, Texas. He died in Orange, Texas, due to natural causes, as a consequence of cancer. His surviving spouse was listed as Katie Mae McGee, the informant on the certificate listed as J. D. Warden.

Notes:

Her Texas Death Certificate shows her parents as David Miers and Mary Ross, both born in Louisiana. She died from shock from an abdominal operation, the principal cause of death being "regurgation of the heart." Her occupation was listed as housewife, and the last date she "worked at this occupation" was Mar. 23, 1933, dying three weeks later. Informant was J. D. Warden of Fairdale, her husband. O
