  2. 5.  Launa Bullock was born on 22 Feb 1902 in Louisiana; died on 8 Jan 1986 in Rusk County, Texas.

    Notes:

Wynema McGrew show her as a daughter of John and Minnie Bullock of Pioneer LA. The obituary of her son, James Carroll McGrew, instead shows his mother as Launa Borders. It appears this may be her name at her death, as James Carroll also had listed as surving him a brothers [step?] Tulley Borders and Dub Borders. It is therefore assumed that Bullock is her maiden name.

  1. 8.  Giles Columbus "Lum" McGrew was born in Nov 1856 in Ouachita Parish, Louisiana (son of John William McGrew and Mary Ann "Polly" Cockrell); died on 15 Apr 1933 in West Carroll Parish, Louisiana.

    Notes:

Wynema McGrew writes that he was named for his grandfather, and called "Lum." He filed for a homestead grant and was given 160 acres just south of his brother, James Calvin, on Lapine Road. In Dec. 1910, he deeded this property to John McGrew, a son of William L. McGrew, who was a son of George Washington McGrew. As of the 1910 census, Columbus G. and Lisabeth J. had been married 28 years and had three children, two of whom were living. [The number and status of their children agrees to the 1900 census.] Only Thomas E. was still at home. Columbus was a farmer and owned his farm free of mortgage and Thomas was listed as a farm laborer.

    Notes:

His birth information, as shown in the scan of BIRTHS recorded in the Fullen bible, was as follows:

    Jack 1876

The information on his draft registration for World War I shows that his full name was Jack John Fullen, and that his date of birth was February 22, 1874. He registered on September 12, 1918, and was shown as being married to Mrs. Nettie Fullen, and as a farmer in Freestone, Navarro County, Texas. His death certificate showed his DOB as February 22, 1875, and indicated his parents were Jim Fullen and Elizabeth Parker. He was listed a Farmer. The informant was Mrs. Gladys Atteberry, presumably his daughter.

Ameth Carmichael shows that Jack FULLEN married (1) Nettie COOPER and that he married (2) Mary WATKINS.

Ameth Carmicheal (Amy Fullen) notes that he married second a Mary WATKINS. I don't think this is correct. The Jack Fullen listed below was born circa 1859. The Jack Fullen listed in the census extracts above was born ca 1876. This is a significant age difference. Other sources show that the Jack Fullen below was actually Harrom Jackson Fullen, born in Comanche County (according to his family), or Tarrant County (according to his death certificate). Harrom Jackson Fullen and Mary Watkins were married ca 1874 or 1875 in Comanche or Coleman County, Texas.
