LELAND SLAYDON

Leland Slaydon, 86, of Kirbyville died Tuesday, January 15, 2008 in Missouri City, Texas.

Funeral services were held Friday, January 18 at Adams E.E. Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville with burial at Newton City Cemetery.

A native of Merryville, Louisiana, he had lived in Kirbyville 12 years and was a retired Education Coordinator for the U.S. Government. He was also a U.S. Army Air Corp veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Sybil Slaydon of Kirbyville; sons, Thomas Slaydon and John Slaydon, both of Merryville, Louisiana; stepson, Randy Rogers of Texas City; daughters, Virigina Pavlik of Katy and Patricia Colbert of Missouri City; stepdaughter, Ernette Hall of Lorena; brothers, Archie Slaydon of Frisco and Sam Slaydon of Lufkin; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
