    Nine local Boy Scouts went on a 10-day summer camp near Jacksonville, Texas. They were:
    Tom Blount, Hampton Downs, W. H. Fussell, Morgan Harris, Floyd Lucker, Miller Mathews, Charles McMillian and Harold Taylor. These same boys, plus seven more--George Ramsey, Joe Bickley, Philip Cockerham, Wyatt C. Teel, Lawrence Rulfs, Herbert Payne and Luther Morris--had a party at Bland Lake the week before.

    Elizabeth Lillian "Betsy" Blount
    San Augustine City Cemetery

    Funeral for Elizabeth Lillian "Betsy" Blount, 88, of San
    Augustine will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Christ Episcopal
    Church, San Augustine, with the Rev. Glenn Harper officiating.

    Burial will be in San Augustine City Cemetery.

    Blount died Aug. 15, 2004, in San Augustine.

    Born Feb. 16, 1916, in Denning, she was the daughter of Dr.
    W.K. Freeman and Lucette Teel. She had been a schoolteacher
    and was a member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas.

    Survivors include a daughter, Lucette Blount Bennett of
    Jackson, Miss.; son, Dr. Tom Blount of San Augustine; nine
    grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
