    Funeral for Johnnie Boyett, 72, of Joaquin will be at 11 a.m.
    today in Mangum Funeral Home Chapel, Center, with the Rev.
    Jody Hooper officiating. Burial will be in Brookland Cemetery,
    Joaquin.

    Boyett died Oct. 7, 2004, at his residence.

    Born Feb. 29, 1932, in San Augustine, he was the son of Johnny
    H. and Audrey Barnett Boyett. He was a member of First Baptist
    Church in Haslam. He was employed with Joaquin ISD in
    maintenance and with the Joaquin post office.

    Survivors include his wife, Bernice Boyett of Joaquin; sons,
    Johnnie Joe Boyett, Wayne Boyett and Jackie Boyett, all of
    Joaquin; daughter, Mary Boyett Stanley of Joaquin; brother,
    A.J. Boyett of Logansport; and 10 grandchildren.

Born May 3, 1933, in San Augustine County, she was the daughter of Ben and Alice Richardson Evans. She was a homemaker. She was married to Johnnie Boyett, and he preceded her in death. Survivors include sons, Johnnie Joe Boyett of Gladewater and Jackie Boyett of Joaquin; daughter, Mary Boyett Stanley of Joaquin; sister, Verline Stanley of Joaquin; brothers, L.B. Evans of Joaquin and Roy Evans of Clayton; 10 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. Mangum Funeral Home, Center.
