Her application for a social security number (TD Form SS-5) shows that she was born to Joseph Henry Fuller and Mary Frances Moore. She was employed by the W.P.A. Sewing Project #16501 in Kountze, Texas for an unspecified daily wage. She completed her application on June 7, 1941, and at that time was living on RFD #1, Box 4, Silsbee, Texas.

Elmer married Sarah Hester Haynes on 17 Dec 1868 in Tyler County, Texas. Sarah (daughter of Young Phelps Haynes and Harriet E. Pace) was born about 1846 in Georgia; died on 19 Sep 1872 in Texas. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

In a phone conversation with Melinda McLemore Strong, Nan McCoy Kittel, the second great grandaughter of Sarah Hester Haynes (wife of Elmer Augustus Horn) noted that Sarah Hester Haynes (Nan's ancestor) was sometimes mixed up with her Aunt, Sarah Elizabeth Haynes, the wife of William Rufus Hester. In fact her middle name was a tribute to her Aunt's husband.

Family Search shows that Sarah Elizabeth Haynes (L7GX-RHX) was a younger sister of Young Phelps. Sarah Elizabeth (born ca 1844 in Alabama) and Rufus Hester were also residents of Jasper, Texas.
