Margie Walton

Margie N. Walton, 66, of Vidor died Saturday, March 4, 1995, at a Pt. Arthur hospital.

Mrs. Walton was a former resident of Sabine County and had lived in the Vidor area several years.

Survivors: husband, Thomas W. Walton of Vidor; mother, Audrey E. Jordan of Pt. Arthur; daughter, Donna L. Murray of Orange; sons, Don L. Walton of Vidor, Carlton A. Buxton and Clinton A. Buxton, both of Reno, Nevada; a sister, Lois Springer of Pt. Neches; a brother Emanuel Jordan of Pineland; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Vidor Memorial Funeral Home in Vidor. Interment followed at Hillcrest Cemetery near Bridge City.

His Texas Death Certificate, viewable online at FamilySearch.org, Texas Deaths, 1890-1976, showed him as a son of Charlie Fuller and Ella McClenton. His usual occupation was listed as Carpenter. The informant was Mrs. Edna Fuller, wife. The description of his cause of death indicates that "he was run over by truck, deceased walking on wrong side of road in early A.M. fog on the Highway in Rosevine." He actually died to an "instant" cerebral concussion and hemorrhage in the nearby San Augustine hospital.

Elton + Edna Johnson. Edna (daughter of William A. Johnson and Mary Adaline "Addie" McCroskey) was born on 7 Mar 1903 in Sparks, Cook County, Georgia; died on 30 May 1968 in Texas; was buried in Rosevine Cemetery, Rosevine, Sabine County, Texas. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

When he registered for the Draft during World War II, his birth place was shown as Hyman, Louisiana. He was employed by Temple Lumber Company and living in Pineland, and listed as 5'10 inches and 200 pounds, with a ruddy complexion, brown hair and blue eyes.
