    Paul BIEN and Miss Irene KAISER, both of Detroit, spent the week-end with relatives in Cass City.

    Volume 14 of the STRIFFLER-BENKELMAN BROADCAST, dated September 3, 1951, reported that she "is now located in a new position as Secretary to Vice-President fo Rotary Electric Steel Co. in Detroit.

    Volume 12 of the STRIFFLER-BENKELMAN BROADCAST, dated September 5, 1949, reported that Ronald had graduated from Lake Shore High School in St. Clair Shores, Michigan. As of 1950, he was stationed at Camp Carlson, Colorado.

    Volume 13 of the STRIFFLER-BENKELMAN BROADCAST, dated September 4, 1950, reported that Marcella had graduated from St. Clair Shores High School.

    Rudolph Kaiser, who is at present visiting his relatives here, has re-enlisted as a soldier in the regular army. He has received the appointment as recruiting officer and will be stationed in Columbus, Oh.

    W. R. Kaiser intends to do all he can to make the town wet this summer. He has bought the street sprinkling outfit of S. Y. Kenyon and the financial renumeration promised by the citizens for this work makes the proposition look like a good thing for the new owner.

    Thursday, September 29, was named as the date for the celebration of four birthdays in the Striffler and Kaiser families and a dinner was served at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Solomon Striffler on Leach street. The birthdays of Mrs. Striffler, Mrs. G.E. Krapf and Grant Reagh, all of Cass City, and W.R. Kaiser of Detroit all occur within a week. Members of all four families were present at dinner.

    W.R. Kaiser Died in Detroit Wednesday

    Wm. R. Kaiser, for many years a resident of Cass City, passed away Wednesday, June 11, at 3:30 p.m. at Detroit. He had suffered a heart attack.

    Mr. Kaiser is a veteran of the Spanish-American War. While living in Cass City, he was custodian of the local schools for many years.

    He is survived by his widow who was formerly Miss Esther STRIFFLER; four children, Mrs. Wm. QUIGLEY, Kenneth and John KAISER and Miss Ruth KAISER; a sister, Mrs. Samuel STRIFFLER, of San Diego, California, and a half sister, Mrs. G.E. KRAPF, of Cass City.

    The Striffler-Benkelman Broadcast writes that he died in the Dearborn Veteran's Hospital. His death certificate indicates this was in Allen Park.

    Mr. and Mrs. W.R. KAISER of Detroit, David STRIFFLER of Columbus, Georgia and Miss Martha STRIFFLER were Sunday guests at the G.A. STRIFFLER home. All the guests returned to Detroit Sunday evening. David STRIFFLER returned to Cass City on Tuesday and is spending the week with his brother, G.A. STRIFFLER, and other relatives. Miss Martha, who has spent a few weeks with her sister, Mrs. KAISER, in Detroit, returned to Cass City with her brother Tuesday.

    Mrs. Esther Kaiser Dies in Mt. Clemens
    Mrs. Esther Kaiser of St. Clair Shores, widow of the late W.R. Kaiser, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, in a nursing home in Mount Clemens. Funeral services were held Friday p.m. in the Kaul Funeral Home, St. Clair Shores. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. William (Irene) QUIGLEY of St. Clair Shores, with whom she lived for several years, and Mrs. Stanely (Ruth) GLICKMAN of New Rochelle, N.Y.; two sons, Kenneth of Grand Rapids, Mich., and John of Pittsburg, Pa.

    The Kaiser family were former residents of Cass City and the children attended school here. Mr. Kaiser served as custodian of the local schools for many years.

    Mrs. Kaiser was the last member of the family of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Striffler, pioneer settlers of this area.
