Larry Lynn Kilcrease, 67, passed away Friday morning, September 11, 2015, in his home. Larry was born in Hemphill, to J.W. and Joyce Buckley Kilcrease. He graduated high school from West Sabine. He retired Temple Inland as a supervisor. He was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather. He will be missed greatly by his friends and family.

He is survived by his wife Patsy Kilcrease of Pineland, his sons: Brandon Lynn Kilcrease and wife Kym of Jasper, and Wesley Jerome Kilcrease and wife Dina of College Station, his brothers: Jerald Kilcrease and wife Susan of Rayburn Country, and Greg Kilcrease of Pineland, his sister Cathy Ladner and husband Bruce of Hemphill, and his 7 grandchildren: Brady, Lauryn, Abby, Madison, Ben, Stella, and "L.B.".

Visitation will be from 5:00PM until 8:00PM, Saturday, September 12, 2015, in the Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr St. Hemphill, Texas. Funeral service will be at 2:00PM, Sunday, September 13, 2015, in the Starr Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Pineland Cemetery Pineland, Texas.

J. W. Kilcrease

J. W. Kilcrease, 72, of Pineland died at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 15, 1996, at a Beaumont Hospital.

Born Oct. 5, 1923, in Shelby County, he had lived in Pineland 38 years and was a member of the Rosevine Missionary Baptist Church. Kilcrease was a retired truck driver for Temple-Inland Forest Products and had served 35 years with the Pineland Volunteer Fire Department.

Survivors: his wife, Joyce BUCKLEY Kilcrease of Pineland; a daugher, Cathy BIRDWELL of Pineland; four sons, Larry L. Kilcrease, Kenneth G. Kilcrease Sr. and Greg Kilcrease, all of Pineland, and Jerald Kilcrease of Jasper County; three sisters, Maggie DEARMAN and Joyce MOTT, both of Pineland, and Lydia HORTON of Rosevine; nine grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel of Starr Funeral Home Inc. in Hemphill with Bro. Vance R. Purtell and Bro. Don R. Falke officiating. Interment followed at Pineland City Cemetery.

Joyce Virginia Kilcrease

Joyce Virginia Kilcrease, 77, of Pineland, died at her residence, October 21, 2007 after an illness.

She was born Dec. 29, 1929, in Houston, and had lived in Pineland all of her life. She worked in sales in the Temple Inland Drygoods before her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.W. Kilcrease and one son, Kenneth Kilcrease, Sr.

Survivors: Daughters Cathy Birdwell and husband, Mark of Pineland, sons, Larry Kilcrease and wife, Patsy, Greg Kilcrease and wife, Frances, all of Pineland, and Jerald Kilcrease and wife Susan of Huntsville; brother, Butch Buckley and wife, Linda of Houston; nine grandchidren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 23 in the Starr Funeral Home Chapel, Hemphill. Interment followed at Pineland Cemetery.

He died at the UT Medical Hospital in Galveston, but was a resident of Sabine County, and had worked as a contractor. Birthplace was shown as Shelbyville. His parents were listed as Willie Kilcrease and Emma Walden, both born in Mississippi. FindAGrave shows his parents as William Kennon Kilcrease and Emma Adora Waldrop (versus Walden). Their memorials are linked to his on FindAGrave as well. Both are buried at the Rather Cemetery, Hurstown, Shelby County, Texas.
