    The Striffler-Benkelman Broadcast, Vol. 7, September 4, 1944, noted that Cpl. Leon Krapf, a grandson of Wm. F. Krapf, was in the Army. As of the September 3, 1945 issue (Vol. 8), it was reported that he was in Czechoslovakia.

    Myra Elizabeth Krapf , 88, of Kennett, Mo., died Dec. 21, 2007 , at Millington, Tenn.
    Born Dec. 24, 2007, at Cape Girardeau, daughter of the late Hoxa Lee Crites and Bessie Chosturn, she was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church.

    On April 6, 1940, she married Leon Wesley Krapf , who preceded her in death.
    Survivors include a son, Gary L. Krapf , and wife, Shan, of Millington, Tenn., a half-brother, Allen Crites of Sikeston, Mo.; and one grandson, Justin Kyle Krapf , and wife, Caroline.

    Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 23, 2007 at McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett with Rev. Ed Jansson officiating.

    Graveside services followed at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett.

    McDaniel Funeral Services of Kennett were in charge of arrangements.

    Notes:

    Peck writes that "Will Krapf, as a single man, accompanied his older sister, Mary, and her husband when they moved to Texas. Later he was one of the 20,000 who made a run for a homestead in the Cherokee Strip in Oklahoma in 1880. About 1900 he moved with his family to the "boot heel" country of southeast Missouri. He was an overseer for farmers. When his sons were old enough, he rented land for them to farm. He raised cotton and corn on this rich bottom land. He eventually acquired land of his own."

    William Krapf, Mr. and Mrs. George Krapf, Mrs. Harris Rhew and Truman Krapf, all of Hornersville, Missouri, are visiting with William Krapf's brother, G.E. Krapf, and other relatives in this community. George Krapf is a son and Mrs. Rhew a daughter of William Krapf and Truman is a grandson. The party expects to be in Cass City about a week.
