    Joe Lynn Haney, 78, of Teague passed away Oct. 30, 2012 in Houston.

    Funeral services will be 10 a.m.,Saturday, Nov. 3 at Northcrest Church of Christ with Shane Alexander officiating. Interment will follow in the Salem Cemetery in Freestone County.

    Visitation with the family will be 5-7 p.m., Friday at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home.

    Joe was born Sept. 3, 1934 in Mexia, to Doyle M. and Mary Baker Haney. He was a longtime resident of the Mexia and Teague areas.

    He received his bachelor's degree in civil engineering at Texas A&M University and masters' degree in civil engineering at Southern Methodist University. Joe was stationed in San Francisco, Calif. while serving his country in the U.S. Army. He worked for the Corps of Engineers in Fort Worth, as county engineer for Limestone County, grant coordinator for the EPA, plant engineer for U.S. Silica and city inspector for the city of Teague.

    He loved spending time with family, serving God and working hard. Joe was a longtime member of the Northcrest Church of Christ.

    He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, LaDane Haney; and sister, Evelyn Haney.

    Joe is survived by his wife, Marilyn S. Haney of Teague; two sons, Mark Haney and wife, Melissa of Lake Limestone and Scott Haney and wife, Leigh of Houston; daughter, Robyn Ellison and husband, Dennis of Normangee; two stepsons, Brian Rawls and wife, Larissa of Midlothian and Aubrey Rawls and wife, Patsy of Teague; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

    Pallbearers will be Brian Rawls, Aubrey Rawls, Andrew Ellison, Daniel Ellison, Dennis Ellison and Ronnie Durrenberger.

    LaDane McSwane and Joe Lynn Haney Exchange Vows

    Mrs. J. E. McSwane announces the marriage of her daughter, LaDane, to Joe Lynn Haney, son of Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Haney.

    The couple was married in September. The bride is a 1955 graduate of Mexia High School and attended Navarro Junior College.

    Mr. Haney is a 1952 graduate of Mexia High Scool and attended North Texas State college before transferring to Texas where he received a degree in Civil Engineering. He is now employed with the Corp of Engineers in Fort Worth, where Mr. and Mrs. Haney plan to make their home.

    Bessie's application for a social security card, completed when she was living in Houston in 1942, stated she was the daughter of Victor Phelix LeFevre and Jane Worren. She wrote that her date and place of birth were Nov. 7, 1913 in Coolidge, Limestone County, Texas.

    At the time of the 1930 census, Estelle was living with her widowed mother in the home of her older brother, Newton. Her younger brother, Jim, was also living with them. She and Newton both were employed as Finishers at a steam laundry.
