    Funeral services for Hollis Gene Jacks, 45, of Bullard were held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 8, 2004 at the Starr Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed at the Jacks Cemetery in Pineland with Rev. Pat Jacks officiating. He died Sunday at his residence.

    Hollis Gene Jacks was born in Hemphill on May 16, 1959 to Hollis Elmore and Eunice McDaniel Jacks. He was a heavy equipment operator for Scull Timber Company.

    He is survived by his wife, Debbie CAMPBELL Jacks of Bullard, parents, Eunice and Hollis Jacks of Broaddus; grandmother Thelma McDANIEL of San Augustine, mother-in-law Hollisa HANN (HAHN) of Bullard; sons Zachery Jacks of Bullard, and Eric Wyane Jacks of Woodville, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

    Starr Funeral Home in Hemphill was in charge of arrangements.

    Note, the SABINE COUNTY REPORTER, Wednesday, September 1, 2004, had a very similiar obituary. It further noted he died following an illness, and that he had been a longtime Pineland resident before moving to Bullard 13 years previously.

    Funeral Services for Hollis E. Jacks, 69, of Broaddus were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 11, 2006 at Starr Funeral Home in Hemphill. Burial followed at Jacks Cemetery in Pineland. Rev. Pat Jacks officiated. He died March 8 at his residence in Broaddus.

    Hollis E. Jacks was born in Sabine County on February 27, 1937 to Marion Jack and Bessie Woods Jacks. He was a heavy equipment operator for the timber industry.

    He is survived by his wife, Eunice Jacks of Broaddus; brothers, Marion "Dick" Jacks of Tatum and Lloyd Jacks of Center; sisters Ethel LEWIS of Pineland and Florence WELLS and Gwen REYNOLDS, both of Hemphill; grandchildren Zachary JACKS and Eric Wayne JACKS. Starr Funeral Home in Hemphill were in charge of arrangements.

    The Sabine County Reporter also indicated he had been nicknamed "Buddy" and that he had lived in Broaddus for the past 23 years.

    Eunice Lee Jacks, 74, of Broaddus, died Saturday afternoon in the Sabine County Hospital. She was born to Neal E. and Thelma McKey McDaniel in Nacogdoches County and has lived in San Augustine and Sabine Counties all her life. Eunice was preceded in death by her husband Hollis Jacks, her son Hollis Gene Jacks and brother Daniel McDaniel.

    Eunice is survived by her grandsons; Eric Jacks and wife Vanessa of Broaddus, Zach Jacks and wife Katie of Bullard, Texas, her brothers; Albert McDaniel and wife Millie Jo of San Augustine County, Thurman McDaniel of Broaddus, Herman McDaniel and wife Mottie of Cut N Shoot, Texas, Douglas McDaniel and wife Cathy of San Augustine County, David McDaniel and wife Brenda of San Augustine, her sisters; Dessie McDaniel of San Augustine County, Millie Cassidy and husband Paul of Milam, Judy Jackowicz and husband Lee of Brooksville, FL., Nancy Kuzma and husband Tim of Brooksville, FL.

    Visitation will be from 6:00PM until 8:00PM, Monday, September 14, 2015, in the Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr St., Hemphill, Texas. Graveside services will be at 11:00AM, Tuesday, September 15, 2015, in the Jacks Cemetery, Pineland, Texas.

He noted that Ennis's father, Bartlett McDaniel, came from Mississippi and settled in San Augustine County, Texas. Ennis lived and raised his children in this same area.

    Thelma McDaniel

    Thelma McDaniel, 86, of Rt. 2, Bronson, died Friday, April 26, 2006 in Brooksville, Florida. Mrs. McDaniel was born Nov. 18, 1919 in Nacogdoches County and was a longtime resident of the Rebecca community. She retired from Temple-Inland as an assembly line worker.

    Survivors: sons and daughter-in-law, Albert and Jo McDANIEL, Herman McDANIEL, David and Brenda McDANIEL, and Doug and Kathy McDANIEL all of Bronson, and Thurman McDANIEL of Broaddus; daughters and sons-in-law, Dessie McDANIEL of Bronson, Eunice JACKS of Broaddus, Mildred and Paul CASSIDY of Hemphill, Judy and Lee JACKOWICZ of Brooksville, and Nancy and Timothy KUZMA of Weeki Wachee, Florida; sisters and brothers-in-law, Etta HIERONIMUS, Elizabeth and Warren JENKINS, Velma and Gerald ROY, Bessie Mae OWENS, Louise and James McKEY, and Marie and Jackie DONALDSON; brothers and sisters-in-law, Glenn and Connie McKEY, Edward and Enit McKEY, Lonnie and Jean McKEY, and James and Gladys STEVENS; 22 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren. They may have simply seperated, as they share a double gravemarker at the Lott Cemetery, and her date of death on this is shown as Sept. 1936.
