Thought to be a son of Drury COOK and Druscilla COLLINGSWORTH, and a brother to Greenberry COOK, who married Nancy MORRIS, a sister his wife, Temperance MORRIS. Rocky Wright believes a third brother, Thomas, settled in Pike County, Mississippi.

Polly Williams, in a Post-em to this file on Rootsweb, stated that "The petition of TEMPERANCE COOK...represents that her husband WILLIAM lately died in this Parish leaving the following minor children issue of his marriage with your Petititiioner, viz. James, Nathan, Polly, Louisa, Carey, Taylor, Matilda and William Cook"

2. Granberry Morris Cook was born on 27 May 1807 in Georgia; died after 1854.
3. Nathan Cook was born on 25 Dec 1809 in Georgia; died on 17 Aug 1881 in Sabine Parish, Louisiana; was buried in Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Negreet, Sabine Parish, Louisiana.
4. James Cook was born on 25 Jan 1812 in Mississippi; died on 1 Apr 1866.
5. Louisa Cook was born about 1816 in Louisiana; died about 1862.
6. Matilda Cook was born about 1820 in Mississippi; died about 1882.
7. William Cook was born in Aug 1825 in Louisiana; died on 8 Feb 1860 in Sabine Parish, Louisiana.
8. Taylor Morris Cook was born about 1829 in Louisiana; and died.
