    Viola attended District #57 County School, graduating from the 8th grade. Viola worked on her parents farm and later did housekeeping and took care of her Uncle Jim Bedlan's children, Leonard and Angeline, after his wife died. (Milligan, p 235).

    Married:
    They were married at the Wilber Courthouse. Witnesses were Evelyn Kalina, sister, and Otto Fujan, close friend. Frank and Viola went to the Black Hills on their honeymoon. On March 1, 1939, because of the depression, they packed their belongings on a trailer behind a Model A and drove southeast to look for work. They stopped in St. James, Missouri, and went to work on the Karl Grebl farm. They lived there until June 1940. At that time, they moved to the Jack Aston dairy farm east of Rolla, Missouri. During World War II, several cousins and friends from the Milligan area were stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri and spent many weekends with Frank and Viola on the dairy farm. They managed the farm unitl 1949, when they moved to Rolla. Frank worked construction, helping to build the Phelps County Hospital. After the hospital's completion, he was hired as a maintenance engineer, and was in their employ from January 1951 until his retirement in January 1976. Viola worked at the Johnson, Stevens and Shinkle shoe factory for more than 13 years, later working for the University cafeteria. (Milligan, p 235).

    Mary was a member of Lodge Cechie. (Milligan, p 236). Note that the year of birth of 1881, as shown in the Milligan Centenial book (p. 236) is incorrect. She was actually born in 1890, as noted on page 417, and confirmed by census listings.

    "Frank and Mary Capek celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary February 22, 1959. There were three other couples that got married that same day. They were Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Capek, Mrs. and Mrs. Frank Hromadka, and Mrs. and Mrs. Joseph Herynk. The Capeks and Hromadkas celebrated their 50th anniversary at the Milligan Auditorium and the Herynks celebrated their 50th anniversary at Tobias Hall." (Milligan, p 236)
